Seems like a solid entry into this device category. I think as time passes they will close the gap and be more accurate and hence more competitive/comparable. That’s usually good for us consumers. 😊
Hey Des, 👋 I also noticed a fair amount of late responses with this device. I also think the battery life specs are optimistic. You did a really great job on this accuracy section here 👌. I have a feeling that Bryton will continue to work on this with firmware updates. Seems like the software development side of things is still in motion. 🤷♂
Hey Matt! I agree - the software side of things may be in flux for a while. This sort of device certainly has to be tricky from the software/algorithm side of things so I hope to see improvements with firmware updates. Thanks man and great video on your side as well!
Thanks for the good review....I have been using a Varia for years now and I can only recommend a radar for any biker to increase safety....and survivability, depending on where you ride. I lived in VA for quite some time and many drivers in the US, especially in the area where I rode my bike, were not necessarily careful when sharing the road with cyclists.
Can you connect to multiple Bluetooth devices simultaneously? Like two smartphones since those useally dont have ANT+ nowadays. Thanks for the review. 😊
Thanks for review. Did you get any info from Bryton? Do they plan to update firmware and fix false negatives issue? If so, would you be so kind and retest your unit after update?
Thanks for the review Des, any feedback from Bryton about whether the radar performance could/will be improved with firmware updates? Seems pretty disappointing in the current state, especially for a 'safety' product
The device has been out for a while (available in some areas since last year) and it's been receiving updates all the way up until a week or so ago, so unsure if it can be improved even further or not. I'll certainly have an update if I see anything new. Thanks!
If it's anything like my varia on my 955, it screams at me. If I were to mount it on the handlebars it would be a tiny little screen with the red flashing I think. I'm usually just focused on staying upright but the buzz on my wrist and the beeping is a nice touch.

totally agreed. more choice.

Great review Des, Thanks !
You're welcome and thanks!
Got hit by an electric SUV from behind, so definitely getting one of these, with video as well.
There is also the Magene radar that came out last year
I bought Magene radar after my previous varia radar wore out. The Magene missed a lot, say, about 5% or more.
Great video about bike accessories

Save your time, just get garmin Varia the accuracy is consistent and brighter light
Very nice review
Q. can i connect this to Garmin Venu 3 watch? Thanks

Euc needs radar...but do you need to look at a sceen all the time to use it???
Please someone explain to me if this device is compatible with the Rider 420 cycle computer.
So, what does it do when connect it the Forerunner 965? Do you have to look at your watch to see if cars are approaching, or what?

does it work with Wahoo Roam v1?
Bryton上節目! 好樣的
Don't you think you should keep your eyes on the road, instead on a small icon on a screen?
This is exactly what this is trying to help you do with providing audible alerts, and when you are alerted it’s just a quick glance of the screen.
@@DesFit Here in Singapore that would be a nice electronic concert
In the UK, these radars do not help with the major problem of Audi and BMW drivers, but nothing does except the Garmin Death Ray
A lack of respect towards cyclists is not exclusive to Audi and BMW drivers.
@@cappaculla True, but they're the worst
in short: buy garmin. I am still waiting for usb-c version of varia...
With laser beams attached? ;)
