- Mostly covering the era of the famous Sega Pirate TV ad campaign than ran during the later part of the Megadrive's era + upto and including the launch of the Mega-CD
I gotta say, as an American, I LOVE THIS! And I thought our Genesis commercials were cool! Boy, the way the Mega Drive was advertised is crazy!
The UK Sega adverts were something special. Nothing has ever been able to come close to replicating how awesome they were

So AWESOME to see my game in this compilation of commercials! They never did any TV advertising over here for the 16-bit Strike games and I heard there were commercials in the UK, but no one ever got me a copy of the VHS. Great stuff!
It took a while to hunt down a few of those ads, especially as I had fond memories of the campaign. For me, the Strike Trilogy was one of the high points of that era (do wish the Strike Trilogy had been released on the MegaCD/SegaCD).
@@TRVG Yeah, Super Strike Trilogy would've been nice. I went back an tuned the entire series and we moved Desert to the later (more robust) Strike engine (called BUICK), so it ran faster/smoother. There was also interviews/behind the scenes with John Manley and myself. Shame the SegaCD cratered before we could ship it. I appreciate you taking the time, so I can finally see this SUPER-90's commercial! Thanks!
Man I remember the Stealth Bomber level of Jungle Strike...*shakes fist at that mission* but still was my favorite of the Strike series. Played Desert, Jungle and Urban Strike but never played Soviet or Nuclear Strike.
Jurassic Krap 🤣 I loved the Pirate TV campaign.
It's this and the S.A.P.S campaign from Sony that make me really miss the 4th and 5th generation on console advertising.. Especially whoever thought it was a good idea to have Rik Mayall be ambassador for Nintendo...
I loved the comic strip they did of Fezhead and Skull.
How SEGA lost out ( in my opinion) against Nintendo in the battle for more sales in the UK is beyond me. Most of my friends had NES/Super NES , whereas I was SEGA all the way.
That tagline was given from the Gods

I'm still hunting out the his copies of the master system "do me a favour, plug me into a Sega". As soon as I can get that up, I might go back through the 3x copies of my mega cd promo vhs's to get a Upscaled pull.
Either that or I may just try and source some better copies of bad influence, the ones going around at the no could do with being improved.

I still have quite a few to upload, just doing quiet a few transfers from VHS (after I realised how many aren't on youtube!)
These "Sega TV" ads were recut and totally butchered for German TV. They simply and plainly made ZERO sense.
