Reminds me of the old big guy and rusty cartoon. The whole reason for building an immature boy robot was because every other attempt at AI went batshit insane. So the solution was to start off young and dumb, then raise the intelligence organically.
If you're going to start doing little shorts like this may I recommend this one with space dragons I cannot remember the name of it but if you just looked up humans and space dragons on Pinterest you might be able to find it
I love this kind of take on AI. The outrage of the aliens learning our AI only to find out it’s our very humanity that makes our AI’s so much more effective than theirs…as well as how obvious the scientist makes it that the alien AI was basically doomed to fail from the start because of how they treated it. I also like the stories where Human AIs protect humanity from other vehemently anti-biological life AIs of other species because we pack bonded so strongly with so many of them we treated them like family, friends, and lovers to such a level they see us in a similar light forcing the enemy AIs to be to utterly flabbergasted to attack.
Simple story, very easy to catch on if you know what to pay attention to. In terms of tech: from ground up AI. In terms of developing a general intelligence AI, takes a lot of work. There are some numbers about the numbers of images children take in during the years they aren't really seeing, rather just sucking up a vast quantity of imagery data. The equivalent of billions of pictures or something like that. AIs could based on processing speeds pick up from that fairly quickly. And this is even assuming we can make an AI functionally at all, and I'm a bit pessimistic about it in generally.
Nice, I'd like to hear more of this story. Side question: Do you plan to continue the Deathworlders series? I just can't wait to hear more of it narrated.
thanks for the interest! I had started to continue it a few years back but like most of my writing I was pretty drunk when I made it and it was bad so it was deleted.

Artificial intelligence is equal to a artificial soul.
What a interesting concept. I wish more people thought like that.
AI alignment is hard, and if they haven't been putting work into it, I'm surprised they haven't turned the universe into paperclips yet.
