If you have any questions please ask and I will answer as best as I can. I hate it when content creators ignore their viewers, so if I did not respond it's because I haven't seen your comment yet!
To completely eliminate any hint of speed wobble, get the solid tire in my parts list!
Thank you for your sacrifice, it will be paid back with our collective lack of struggle :)
@@pcdoodle1 what a beautiful thought 🤣
You're a legend Francisco. Followed your video and upgraded my headset. I got a bit stump at 10:00 because your base fitted perfectly whereas mine didnt. I had to hammer it into place. Keep up the good work, you're videos are a gem for the crazy cart community
@@phiphi-yt That is so kind of you to say man, and I really appreciate it. But even better than that, you're rocking a new headset and you're going to save some money modding your cart 🤙
I regret not just recording myself doing all this stuff for the first time, but also I like to know what I'm doing. That way I'm not wasting people's time with a bunch of mistakes and blabbering (which I still blabber too much 🤣)
@@TheCrazyCartModChannel keep up the good work. Don't worry, you're blabbering is very informative for someone like me who's not good with the tools haha
youre the goat for all budget ballers🔥
@@pilotharibo that's very kind of you to say. Definitely not perfect content but at least I'm trying.
Thank you very much! I followed your guide to the t and it was very easy until I got to the part with the thin washer. That part ordered on Amazon doesn’t include the thin washer
I just ordered another one a few days ago and got it today. It must just be absent sporadically because it was in mine. I'm sorry you didn't get it though...
@@TheCrazyCartModChanneldo you have the specs for the washer? Mine was missing from my kit as well
@@TheCrazyCartModChanneldo you have the link to the one you ordered? It’s not in the google doc.. the one I ordered is missing the thin washer
@@djdixon6772 Holy Crap dude, I never realized it wasn't in the doc! I just added it and included a photo. thank you for bringing this to my attention!
@@djdixon6772 I do not have the specs, but I am sure you can use the top thicker washer in between instead. Try that first. I recall in a comment somewhere someone saying they did it and it worked. good luck!
Thank you man, much appreciated!
@@RyanGomes-m5o very very welcome buddy
Yo, I think im going to upgrade my crazy cart like you taught me on your video, why hasnt no one else tought of that
@@chingchangbingbong3882 I don't know, I'm cheap so I always think of how I could do it cheaper first 🤣
On the website, which model of bearing is the correct one? (The certain type of mm and fork type).
It's already listed in the parts list from the description 👍
@ The parts list is great, but for me the links do not work.
@samsvonovec376 that is the strangest thing to me. They work for so many people. a.co/d/3MSpgIs
@ Thank you so much for your help!!!
@@samsvonovec376 very happy to help brother, that's what this is all about. I'm really sorry the links don't work for you. How are you trying to access them? Phone? Computer? Tablet? What browser?
For the first step seems like there is something blocking the allen key opening, doesnt go deep enough to grip the screw. Was wondering if you ran into that the first time replacing it as well
@@johanns.rivera3480 I haven't buddy sorry. Make sure it's clean in there so you don't strip it out
I had that issue as well; it was a tiny piece of cloth or something. I took it out - and I was using an Allen key that was too small.
@@JaceN3D yeah, for me it was a block of brittle magnet. Looked like a block of pencil lead. I just used a flathead and hammer to chisel it out.
Hi i was wondering what would you suggest for a brand new rider for next step in upgrade? I’m 5”10 214 lbs riding a standard cart. So far my research has pointed to a 36v battery and 36v controller. Any insight? Thanks for your time and videos!
@@hwin713 everyone has a different level of aptitude for these carts. I would say get very comfortable with the stock speed first if you aren't already, then upgrade.
Almost everyone that asks to ride my cart gets thrown off in the first few seconds 🤣 and that's without even using the speed. They don't grasp the drift mechanic at all.
And after that, in my honest opinion, skip 36v and go to 48v, because you control the speed. You don't have to go flat out, and you'll have 1 extra battery which will give you more ride time than a 3 battery 36v setup.
Definitely check my longer mod video if you haven't seen it yet. 👍
@@TheCrazyCartModChannel you’re right man technique first haha. For sure I’ll watch that other video!
Is it better to put on the old headset bearing nut that went right below the top nut, instead of using the rubber seal that came with the new bearing?
@@JMilky7 Since these parts are precision machined to work together I'd say use everything the new bearing comes with, but you can always experiment and share your findings. It works perfectly for me, so I think if it ain't broke don't fix it in that case.
@@JMilky7 reading this again, I think you're talking about that thick washer? If so I think yes, use the washer and the old nut as well.
I'm sure you figured it out but I'm clarifying for anyone else who reads this.
Replaced the headset bearing in my brand new XL. Still have terrible wobbles. I don’t get it.
@@johnd9357 do you have a solid tire? You may not have tightened the bearing enough, you may not have enough air in your tire (if it's not solid)
@ yeah still on a pneumatic tire for now. I’ve been playing around with different tire pressures and different tightnesses on the headset. Nothing seems to get rid of it. It’s pretty annoying because it also wobbles when I am in the transition between one drift to another. So say I’m sideways and I never lower the drift bar, but I transition to sliding the other way - I’ll catch a wobble at two points as the wheel is at roughly 45 degrees. Hopefully that makes sense. I thought about calling your shop tomorrow just to run through some suggestions, and also because I am going to order the 48v battery but don’t want to ship it while we have sub freezing temps in the south.
@@johnd9357 even i still have a little wobble on a stock pneumatic tire with high pressure. It's the solid tire that really gets rid of it completely. If you grip the wheel tighter it reduces. I know the frustration
@ oh so the solid tire helps with this? I’ll add that to my battery order then. Thanks for the info man. Greatly appreciated.
i wanted to ask if i could buy a catser upgrade from you if you have figured it out by chance beec ya that other option is too expense and your video really inspired me but I lack the tools to do it
@@bababoy1050 I will look into it and get back to you. I have totally forgotten about trying to figure out a kingpin solution, but thanks for reminding me. We're celebrating my wife's birthday today, but maybe this weekend I can figure something out. Do you already have a crazy Cart?
@@TheCrazyCartModChannel ya I do and like im getting to using ya video to upgrade it and like that set of caster upgrade sounds cool but I don't have a weld to do it and I know with my luck the bolts gonna snap first try. Also hope you enjoyed your wife's bday congrats to her.
I haven't forgotten about you, I will try to make it out to home depot and see if I can find a solution this weekend.
@@TheCrazyCartModChannel okay bet for sure boss
@@bababoy1050 I just uploaded a way to turn your stock caster into a wide caster for cheap man. Check it out and let me know what you think if you're still alive
This isn't related to the video, but I have a crazy cart gen 1, and its casters are much more narrow and not so far back. Do you think it makes tipping over much worse to the point where it should be changed? Is there any way you know of to be able to somehow modify the drift bar to position the casters like the modern carts? Or maybe doing the apollo wide castor mod will help enough with balance. Any thoughts? Thanks!
@@JMilky7 I would need to look into this as I'm not familiar with anything besides my gen 5, but I'm sure I would personally tinker and address the issue some way. Probably by drilling relocation holes to move the bar entirely. But I'll have to look.
The thing about the physics of the cart though is that if you are drifting it correctly there should be no tipping because the casters are rolling and not providing any lateral resistance. Tipping will occur on any version if you are trying to turn at a high enough speed without engaging the casters and getting them a little sideways first.
The wide casters actually exacerbate this physics issue because they are flat and wide, so they don't accept the lateral force as much as the narrow ones, which go into a drift automatically if enough force is applied to them. I cover this idea in my longer video.
I'm trying to get my hands on a V1 to do some r&d. But I'm gonna try to make the v2 bar work on a V1 it's simple split block mounts on both. Might be able to slide the block mounts on the v2 bar to align with the stock v1 bolt holes. I haven't tried it yet seems no crazy carts come up for sale close to me.
@@D.river753 Walmart and Amazon have carts for sale right now for $379 ($406) agree tax, with free shipping.
I think you would be able to move the floating mounts like you are describing
@@TheCrazyCartModChannel yeah I know ,I ment a V1 the closest to me is almost 3 hours away. I got my V2 for 20 bucks on marketplace. Swapped to 36v lipo setup the day I got it. it's about to get a 700w (24v) running 48v shrimp with a fafo mods vesc controller. I've yet to test the set up waiting on the controller and battery.
The V1 with a V2 bar wouldn't that make it a v1.5 lol I'm going to take trip next weekend to pick up a V1,v2(blue and white) and an XL if the price is right. Trying to build a little fleet to take out for a few friends.
@@D.river753 that is awesome. I haven't really seen any good second hand deals around my area.
Is shrimp a typo? If not, what's that?
GOOD!
Glad you like it
What size headset are you using?
@@eldelealejandrosanchez1386 please look at the link in the description for all the parts and FAQ 🙏
I plugged in all my wires to the controller, then battery, (stock controller and battery) and when I turned it on I heard a pop. Did I fry my controller?
@@imkulex7667 if the cart doesn't work now then you may have somehow burnt up the controller, but I don't know why anything would have went wrong on stock batteries and controller setup...
Have you changed anything from the stock setup?
@@TheCrazyCartModChannel no nothing electric wise, at most I’ve spray painted it! I may have switched the black and red motor cables when inserting them back in. I also have the stock controller installed with the wires facing towards up the fork instead of down (not sure if it makes a difference)!
@@TheCrazyCartModChannel most likely gonna just order new 48v controller and wire together 2 more batteries (I like how your cart is set up so I’m following along)
@@imkulex7667 switching the motor wires would only make the motor go the other direction so that shouldn't be it. Could be a bad motor also. I had someone who recently upgraded to my specs and nothing was working. Bought a new stick motor and he was in business. A cheap volts meter from harbor freight will come in handy for tests that can save you money.
Why does the first little piece not slide down all the way as easily as it was for you
Probably because this isn't the first time it's been on there. I took everything off and put it back to stock just to make this video. Either way, it shouldn't mean there's anything wrong with yours if you have to fight it a little.
Ok thanks
I lost my little washer😭
@@Mtbisdalife maybe if you put the thicker washer in the middle that will still work? I'm sorry to hear that!
@@TheCrazyCartModChannel I got it to work by using part of the old headset but with the sealed bearings
@@Mtbisdalife I'm really glad to hear that. 🥳
@@TheCrazyCartModChannel prob will post a video about the cart soon on my channel
Do you have measurements of the thin washer? New kits from Amazon seem to have this part omitted.
