Thank you. This fixed the connection problem I was having with a new 100/50 SCC that I had just received. Though I didn't have to put PUK at the start of the serial number. Just the code number by itself.
Thank you I tried watching Vlad but the coughing, camera work and that middle finger I just could not get past, so I found your channel. I will be subscriber number 37 although mine will not show up as I keep my channels hidden but I am here.
Thank you so much, extremely helpful! Brand new Victron 100-50 would not accept default Bluetooth pin. Worked perfect to reset, no need to prefix with PUK though. @VictronEnergyBV should really look into this issue.
I don’t remember you mentioning in the video about this common issue with Bluetooth devices. Usually phones/devices using Bluetooth for connection can only have a limited number that are connected to that specific device. If you have several Bluetooth devices one may have disconnected to allow you to connect to another device. Many of newer devices have increased the number of Bluetooth devices that can be connected at the same time, however it is still small say 4-6 devices all at once. My iPad I am writing this posting has an Apple Pencil, Keyboard and Headphones all connected by Bluetooth. I have never max the number out but there is a small limit. I would have to check for my devices with research to determine each device limits. Technology is helpful but wireless technology only goes so far. Just like Bluetooth is suppose to be good for 10 meters or 33 feet, plus this all depends on what is blocking the signal. More solid barriers will cut down on the distance the signal will travel. Anyway, something I thought to put out there to consider. Best to All!
Thank you so much had a issue with my mppt. After a halve day i could not connect to it anymore and had to power cycle the unit. did the pin reset like you mentioned and all works great again.
Handy fix providing you can see the device in the list….. my smart solar 100/50 just decided to stop showing up all together and can’t be found via Bluetooth anymore.
If you have access to a ve.direct bluetooth dongle you could plug that into the device, update the firmware and then see if the internal bluetooth is working again. Sometimes a wrong button is selected and the bluetooth gets turned off by accident.
same problem her for me. also the 100/20 version. does not appear in victron connect, not in the phones or any other tested devices BT list. it is connected to the cerbo GX and works normalay. and appears in the cerbo's devicelist. but there is no function to enable/disable bluetooth. IIRC earlier there was an option to turn it off via cerbo. but i searched everywhere in the cerbo and victron connect (remote access over internet) but... nothing... all devices are uptodate.
I tried your suggestion, but when I opened the app and selected the file, I did not get the option of resetting the PIN. I thought I needed to update my app, so I did. But I still do not get that option.
If you have another phone or tablet, try installing the Victron Connect app and see if a new connection from another device is different. Possibly the firmware needs to be updated.
Thanks. That was a truly great tip. In my case, I fixed the bluetooth connectivity with a Firmware update. However, despite I see my RUUVI temp sensor values in the menu of the Cerbo, I do no longer see those values on the Cerbo pages. Strangely the tank sensor volume values are displayed both on the menu and on the pages in Cerbo. Do you have a tip as to display the temperature readings on Cerbos pages? Best regards, Silvano
Glad to hear it worked for the connection issue. Regarding the Ruuvi sensor data not showing in the Cerbo I'm not sure. Sometimes giving it a few days it these issues go away on their own as the data gets resent. If thats not working you can try to disconnect the Ruuvi's and then add them again hopefully resetting the connection.
I have an mppt 75/15 solar charge controller - it shows up on the victron app but I don’t get the 3 dots? I have also taken a photo of the label on the back - it has 2 bar codes with numbers under each - which one is the PUK code? Thanks in advance
If you have another phone or tablet, try installing the Victron Connect app and see if a new connection from another device is different. Possibly the firmware needs to be updated. The PUK code is usually on a sticker that also contains the HQ serial number.
I have an issue with my smart shunt bluetooth range, won't even connect from my truck seat. Will the bluetooth dongle plugged into the shunt port help extend the range?
Good question, the ve.direct bluetooth dongle will help only if you are able to mount the dongle closer to the phone connection point. Also if your shunt is in an enclosed area and your able to mount the dongle outside that area, you will increase the range. Walls severely limit bluetooth range.
Thank you for the video 😄 Im writing from Denmark and I have a question for you? My New Orion-TR 30 amp 12v/12v charger is showing on the victron App but it stops at 80% and ask for the pin code and when I have written 000000 nothing happens but it starts over again and ask again for the pin snd so on? Can you please help me? Vh Rudi 😁
@@pikeind thanks for the answers 😄 I can try to do that but I have tried to download the victron connect app to one more mobil phone and the result is the same?
We have the victron smart shunt connected to the victron cerbo gx through wifi. We can get the get it online at home. But when we leave home we cannot get it on the internet. What do we need to be able to get it on the internet world wide? We live on a boat in the bahamas. The boat is our home.
There are a few options. 1. Connect the Cerbo to a mobile hotspot or satelight internet like Starlink. 2. Look into the GX LTE 4G. This device needs an LTE cell tower to connect so it might not work when your out at sea.
Mine doesn’t detect any devices on Bluetooth trying with both my iPad or phone. I have 12.5 volts at the input of the Orion -tr smart non isolated from the starter battery but if I ground it to the common earth on the Orion there is no voltage showing? The earth on the Orion has continuity to ground with my meter. Is the unit faulty as it is brand new?
If its a "smart" device and your within 5 feet of the unit but Victron Connect doesn't detect anything then you should submit a warranty claim on the Victron site.
I found the problem. The chassis ground had fallen down out of sight when I connected up the other ground wires. Once connected all is working perfectly and connects easily by Bluetooth. 🤗👍👍👍
I have three Victron charge, controllers, and one refuses to update the software to the latest version? Two 250/100 & 150/85. The smaller one doesn’t update to the latest.
Make sure the MK3 is the only thing plugged into the Multiplus. If you have a Cerbo or anything else plugged into the other ethernet port, it will keep the MK3 from seeing the Multi.
I have done all But one thing does not come up It only gives me forget in the 3dots not the other as well Have pulled the fuse pulled Bluetooth And nothing had it for 6 yrs now It’s been in storage for one yr So I have no idea what is wrong with Thanks mate
I'd try to connect to it using another device with Victron Connect installed. Also you can try to reinstall Victron Connect. Once you do connect, update the firmware as that could also resolve the issue.
I have a problem with my Smart Shunt. Its connected but when i click on the device it goes directly to a product information page. Click the Back arrows and the device doesn't show up now... I have uninstalled and started completely over but same results... Any ideas ?? Thx
If you have another device you can try and connect with it to see if your getting the same results. I'm assuming you tried resetting the connection using the PUK code as mentioned in the video?
I've had a blue smart charger for ever. Tried getting into it and nothing works. If you go on line there a pile of people trying to do the same thing. Get bluetooth connection with myb24 volt blue smart charger.
Do you have the BLUESOLAR or SMARTSOLAR? The BlueSolar doesn't have bluetooth built in and you need a ve.direct bluetooth dongle. Another thing you can try if you have the SmartSolar is to go into your phones bluetooth connections and forget the Victron connections. Then try the connection again.
Their connection sucks. I can’t move more than 6 feet away and I lose all signals while any other Bluetooth device I have I can stay away up to 30 feet.
If the unit was out in the open you would have 30 feet but usually these devices are placed in storage compartments with wood and even worse metal walls between the connection points. These severely limit the connection strength.
Many of the devices can have a Victron ve.direct bluetooth dongle added which would increase the range but again if its placed in a box the range will be limited.

Hello, so after this step is it necessary to reconnect!? Meaning perform the connections steps again!?
Frustrating but it worked for me Thanks....

Hi great video, I tired what you mentioned however the PUK codes aren't recognised? Any further advice to try and connect my viltron system on the App
Check if the "I" (letter) is a "1" (number one), same with a "B" (letter) is a "8" (number eight). Be sure to put PUK in front.

What if you try and remove the stored bluetooth connection from your phones bluetooth connections, then try the connection again.
