I am tech / solar ignorant!!! And YOU have been SOO MUCH help to me. Have had my Victron system for MONTHS in the state of Az. but couldn't find ANYONE in the sunniest state in the U.S. to help me install my system. Through YOUR video's, I my IGNORANT self got my solar going. Still some bug's to work out, but YOUR video's REALLY helped and are GREATLY appreciated!!!
I’ve watched this video several times so far. I’m trying to learn. This was very simple to follow, it’ll just take me a few more times for it to become second nature. Thanks!!
You’re a pleasure and a wealth of information! Planning on upgrading our Lance 850 truck camper and similar to the one you just did. We’ll be talking soon
I have been downloading the history from my systems since November 2020 when i got my 1st Smart Solar Charge Controller. Some interesting data can be found. I wish the BMV/shunt could send SOC Max/Min, & the temp sensor send hi/lo temps.😊
Great video. Thanks for the detailed info. Question : How long should I set the absorption time on a 100ah LifePo4 - used for recreational purposes. im using a 75/15 Victron SS
Just an FYI, the time remaining is based on what you have set the discharge floor on. If you are using the BMV relay function on a percentage range it will reflect that setting and not the battery bank capacity. Same with that little battery on the display.
For sure! And since we set the discharge floor to 0% on Battle Born Batteries as we can use their full capacity, it's the same measurement. AGM or lead acid batteries where you can use 50% of the battery capacity will be greatly affected by this.
@@EXPLORISTlife I guess what I was trying to say is that it's unfortunate that the relay function when using the %charge as the parameters changes the discharge floor. It would be nice if they was a way to separate them. Maybe there is and I'm just missing it.
@@EXPLORISTlife I have the relay set up for solar dumping. When I reach 100% it turns on the electric water heater in my travel trailer. I have it programmed to shut off at 95%, but that setting changes the discharge floor. It's not the end of the world because the charge percentage is still accurate. I first noticed it when that little battery in the display would be empty around 96% and when I called Battleborns support, they couldn't explain it at the time. I had originally set the BMV to their specs so it wasn't until I was playing around with it that I figured out it was being changed by the parameters of the relay function. It's not a huge deal like you said, it's rare that you have a constant charge or discharge so the time remaining is dynamic.
Do you have a video on programming the dc2dc 121230 charger. I don't have mine set up correctly because if I leave it on, it always kills my start battery.
Great info (as usual)! Question regarding the following scenario where you have 1200 W of solar, 100% battery SOC, minimum or no loads. What does the Solar Charge Controller do with the incoming 1200W of Solar?
The charge controller just turns off, basically. Sorta like how there is always power available at a light switch, but the lights only turn on when the switch is on.
Hi. Thanks for the useful video. In your case, I saw that the Multiplus appears as VE on the Victron Connect app your smartphone. In my case, I see all devices, except the Multiplus. Is the reason possobly in not having the USB dongle? Or could there be other reasons? Best regards.
So the solar wattage actually shows the power being output by the charge controller rather than the solar input? This has been my theory since we got our new RV as it shows almost zero when connected to shore power but as soon as I disconnect it begins to climb.
Hi Im writing from Denmark Can you tell me why my new smart solar charger. not shows on the victron connect App? My mobil phone is near by and there is power on so I dont understand why it not show up? Is there anything I csn do or is the smart solar Broken? Vh Rudi
The problem with your videos if people have money, they go and pay professionals to install or buy ready build. If people are on budget, most of the funcy stuff is not required.
That's not true. Plenty of DIYers are doing this stuff because they like to know how to do this stuff themselves, not because they are trying to do it as cheaply as possible.
❤ Simple enough that even your mom can understand. Thanks son. 🥰

Another great video! Thank you Nate

Nice! Sounds like an awesome project!
I love all my Victron devices as well as my 3 Battle Born batteries.
Excellent information!
Glad it was helpful!
Super Video, Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you
Nice video!
Thanks!!
I'd like to understand the trends tab better, and the options there. I'll be looking through your other videos

The app is awesome. My son and I found out what out where and what a PUK # is. Fyi. Take a photo of it on your mppt before mounting it. Haha
Another Awesome Video 👍 do you have a video coming out on Ruuvi tags setting to switch on fans etc ?

Perfect! Just what I needed! I just went through the history and it's showing multiple days of over 14.6, how is that possible? Thanks!

What scenario are you trying to accomplish? Or... what's the use case?

I have two 100 Ah batteries connected in series for 24V. When am setting the
Victron Energy SmartShunt up do I set the Ah to 100 or 200? Thanks
Hi Do you know maybe how to send the power from battery to the net grid thanks 😊
Not really an easy process I can explain here in the comments section.
Ok I really liked this video except my app looks significantly different. It does not have some of those displays. Any reason why?
Hi. MPPT show me P Max 60W but in history on diagram show me max 27W, what happened?
Bag in software or there is something about I don't know?

its asking me for the code of my monitor device. where do i find this?

I am one of those in the very budget category but working on getting a lot of this going so thank you so much.
