Gotta say I've been looking for great tone all my life and I've tried lots of pickups. Some custom made, some times speaking to the maker, but every set of Fralin pickups I've looked at on youtube just sounds better than all the rest. Well done Lindy you are the TONE MASTER.

Hi Lindy, nice to see you!! while ago I got a Tele with one of your pickups already installed on the neck position. I have to say that your pickup is one of the sweetest single coil I've ever heard. I would like to use this opportunity to say THANK YOU.

Thanks for this. I just got one of those Chinese Squiers and now I know they are worthy of a pickup upgrade. That sounded so cool for a humbucking set.

I love fralin pickups. I have the vintage tele pickups in my tele and the humbuck sized p90s in my 335. In the middle of my tele I got a cheap Wilkinson strat pickup... I'm thinking of getting split blade middle pickup because my finger always hits the pole pieces when I finger pick

Split Blade sounds realy cool, however I really like the look of the original strat pickup. if you can make the same sounding pickup with the vintage look (with pole pieces) that's a real Bingo to me.
    Nice job. Keep it on.

I'm sure Lindy would be pleased to hear you say that! That's exactly what he was going for. Thanks for commenting.

i have these pickups and they ARE great. i think they're the best single coil sound ever until i pick up my other strat that has a set of fralin's vintage hots in it. at that point i'm quickly reminded that the fralin vintage hots are his best model. lindy told me that the split blades were actually modeled after the vintage hots. he came really close. the most noticeable difference to me, between the two is that the split blades sound a bit "harder" in comparison to the vintage hots.

Thats what I hear too. Any way to tame the "Hardness?"

I wouldn't say the splits sound like a single, but IMO it sounds better than a single. Sure the highs dont pop at you like the a true single, but there is a thick creamy kind of tone that IMO is much modern sounding.
Of course those single replacements sound great too.

Some play a 400.00 Mexican strat in there bedroom, some play a 1.500, 2000.00 in there bedroom. The TeX mex pickups are a number 1 seller, the body's are alder unless you order special wood for your bedroom. And there only put together in mexico so labour is the savings.set up, there great. Iv put different pickups in a us strat.

My favorite neck is of a Squier Stratocaster made in 1995. And I've played Gibson Customs before.

patrick's broken glute I also have a 1987 Made in Japan Strat and it’s got the best neck I’ve ever played on any guitar. That era of MIJ starts are known for their quality

if you want to buck the hum and muffle the highs, then get a les paul / 335 etc
taming a single coil strat seems cruel.
i liked the first set best. clean and clear.
tone knobs are on the amp and guitar for a reason.

Lindy, I own an american standard strat and I want to change the pups. Which would you recomend for a nice rock/blues style?

  • @carlsanders371

Hey lindy, I want to put your vintage hots into a strat but just deciding between a Mexican standard or an American standard body. From your experience, once your pickups are put in, is there a remarkable difference between which strat you use

Is it my speakers or are the two middle strings not as bright as the others on the split blades?

The split blades sound good but I don't like the way they look. I prefer the classic look of the vintage hots.

Split coils don't sound like real single coils.Bridge p/up at the end sounded like a humbucker.
