I love Christmas in Australia. Although I was born in the UK and the first few years in Oz felt a bit strange as a kid, I love that everyone is outside having fun. My Christmas is a mish mash of British, Australia, Indian and a little bit of Irish tradition due to our family mix and it is awesome, will then go see my sister in law an it will be full on Italian Australian and the common theme is everyone will be outside in the warmth getting stuffed! Will be doing same Kris Kringle (although ours is called Secret Santa) and it will be so much fun!
What a great day. I have my Magpies and Butcher Birds that fly in for a snack each day at my home in Kalamunda. Kookaburras always hang around when families are having outdoor feast, for the opportunity to steel food out of your hands, or off the hotplate itself. Have a Merry Christmas.
Hope you and your family have a good Christmas.the weather really looks like the state of queensland weather, quick storm fine, clear and hot few minutes later.
i was born and raised in melbourne so its really lovely seeing the peaceful vibe of the rural life. oh to have a big plot of land with animals in melbourne
second christmas as an adult technically! but for actual christmas i go to new zealand every year with my partners family. thanks so much for watching and welcome!!
one time i was at wilson’s prom and a kookaburra came at me, so i swatted at it but it kept flying straight and took the sausage right out of my hand!! i didn’t know they were so brave, i was expecting the reflexes of a seagull hahaha
Your Christmas looks like mine did back in the 70s &80s, I'm Aussie but never heard of this KrisPringle (I think you said) thing you talk about , or maybe Tassie is just behind the times ,
Kris Kringle. It’s been a Xmas tradition for decades. The first time I experienced it was for a Xmas lunch at my first job. Everyone purchased a small gift under a set $value ($5-$20 over the years). You wrap it but put no name on it and then everyone selects a gift other than their own at the firm’s Xmas lunch. We knew ahead of time if we were purchasing for a male or female (blue or pink raffle ticket for each staff member). I purchased a neoprene wine bottle skin and a set of two friction powered race cars and the males at their table were having a ball with the 🚙 🚗 Similar to “Secret Santa” but you don’t get given a name and nowadays the gift is usually non-gender specific so more of a Kris Kringle.
I get a bit envious when i watch non toxic functional familes have a nice non toxic healthy time.... like im used to the toxicity and chaos but just once i would love to have a chrismas like this where i'm dont have to take 2 weeks out of society after to emotionally recover and complete the spiral....
The Christmas Crackers?🤨 Are we the only ones that call them Bon Bon's?? Also, I'm the only one that wears my hat😓 and the rest of the stuff is normaly throwen out😭
you having a laugh? that's not christmas.. that's some stuff aussies do just so they fit in with the rest of the world. christmas is snow.. aussies don't have a real christmas.. don't make me laugh
Please do not speak on the behalf of us Aussie's If you do not live in our country. You can't experience our kind of Christmas December is the time of year for Australians where it is hot. It is called Summer so of course we're not going to have snow for Christmas. You cannot sit there and say that we don't have a real kind of Christmas. Keep your silly opinion to yourself. Thank you
Leave the girl alone mate. She moved to America at a young age, so she has nothing to do with you people. Nobody leaves a lesser country for a better one just so they can be part of that lesser country. You Aussies have a habit of desperately claiming stuff that ain't yours.
Over here in the UK having Christmas in Australia would be considered a ridiculous idea. Nice to see your parents had the sense to have you raised in a civilized country rather than Australia.
@@juliebird5307 I'm British. We get the world's respect. You down there don't. It's a fact that the woman that's posted this video is much better off being an American than one of you people down there.
A very accurate portrayal of xmas / xmas lunch in Australia including the bunch of esky's.
Lovely family and vid . Merry Christmas 🎄

Love the book giving tradition!
None of my grandparents are still with us but my grandmother on my Mum's side always gave me books for Christmas. Loved it.
This was such a fun video to watch and I love some of your families traditions ~ happy Christmas and New Year from a fellow Aussie
Great to see you had a great time. Xmas in Australia is all about being with family and friends. Merry Xmas and have great New Year.
Your Aussie accent is slowly creeping back. Once an Aussie always an Aussie no matter how young.
Must’ve been so cool being around all the animals there.

Merry Xmas! Watch out for hungry kookaburras if you're holding any sausages on a piece of bread or a hotdog roll. They're really fast and sneaky!

The vast majority of the populated world spends Christmas above freezing, and many places are normally above 60F.
Aaah, But you're not American. Self admitting you're Australian born who lived in America..😳
i’m so in between you’re right! but i feel i can’t call myself australian when i’ve spent more of my life in america and have this american accent
@@elliemajelly Dont worry about the accent you have an Aussie attitude which is fantastic

Going by your comment I would say we are definitely more civilised than you.

@ Typical narrow minded comment from someone who has probably never been here. Also hate to tell you that England has far more problems than Australia
