    Just found you all on UA-cam. You hold the same values as myself. I asked God many times to help me find a good childrens group and it was hard until I realized my husband and I are their teachers and we disciple them. They know about deliverance and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Great to know you’re discussing these topics- you now have a new subscriber

    Ok… Just liked and subscribed after watching this and your last video… Thank you for this. Thank you for saying what many of us are thinking. God has led my wife and I to start a worship initiative in homes doing living room worship and almost by accident we’re seeing God use us more outside our institution and it’s kinda scary but one night we looked at each other and said, “what have we done”? We’ve accidentally started a home church! 😮 Realizing this it has been a bit “weighty” not in a bad way but realizing the responsibility we have to each other now and in real life, everyday! We might need some guidance through this… We’ve been doing this for over a year now. We still attend the institution but we also lead discipleship groups outside of church. And preach on the mountain at the ski resorts some Sundays. We are re-evaluating life and church and everything really… Blessings from the Colorado Mountains 😊

      Love it! Thanks for sharing. We "accidentally" started our first home based or simple church as well. It's so cool when it happens organically like that. I want to encourage you that we had no idea what we were doing at first but the Lord was so gracious in leading us through that process. Lot's of mistakes but he began to surround us by people who grew into the leaders that help steward the community now and we've lost count of all the churches and disciples birthed out of that original fellowship.

    Such a good topic, and hopefully church ministers can listen without choosing to be offended and really listen to your message! It's so sad to be in the mission field with an unreached, illiterate (can't read the Bible lol) people, and watching them and their kids learn to hear God daily, understand the word of God through audio bibles, and gather in cororate prayer because these simple parents have become the church! This message is so important and not saying those serving kids aren't doing a God-given call, but rather to humbly and soberly realize the parents need to be discipled and disciple their families first and foremost!

    Exactly! When I seek God I feel more independent from people than any other day. When my faith in Jesus is week I immediately fall into that insecurity before any person I meet that day unless I feel some sort of superiority over them. And so when I feel insecure I can’t love them and my soul seeks comfort in belittlement people around. I still have difficulties in relationships because of that. That’s why I continue to seek God and learn about Jesus and hope one day to give my life to him.

    Thank you so much for this episode!!! It was so encouraging and confirmation of how the Holy Spirit has also been convicting us to raise our four children!
    Do you think the “disciplining” in the early years giving way to the “training” in the older years is a lot about leading your children from obedience and dependence on you as parents into obedience and trust in the Lord as they grow?
    I am also thinking about the opportunities we have to help our children grow in self-discipline and self-control as they age.
    I love what you explained as far as what is our responsibility as earthly parents versus God’s role in the development of our children! We cannot parent from fear and control or we stifle the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. In that case, we’re trying to be their Holy Spirit and that’s not our role!

    • @reChurchpodcast
      @reChurchpodcast  2 місяці тому

      So glad it was helpful, and yes i agree! The discipline gives way to the training for sure. Yes you will definitely see that transition over time where your role is to point them to the Lord so that they begin hearing for themselves and then you can help them discern.

    I think it is not just the hypocrites. I think there is a fallacy that Jesus gives you the "good" life. I think following rules and adhering to church culture is also a stumbling block for many people. they think they are Christians but never bear fruit. I believe I fell in this group. Some hard times have humbled me and have lead me deeper into dependence on Jesus,

    God can do anything. People with bad or absent or no parents at all can receive Holy Spirit and live for Him. This should be the exception. The norm for the church should be that the children don’t even need Sunday school because they are receiving identity and shown examples of how to listen to God by parents who practice it daily. This episode is for parents, not necessarily against Sunday school teachers as some very badly misunderstand.

    It is the Parents responsibility to model God to their children and to teach them the Bible, i.e. disciple them. Just a shame we, the parents get so caught up/infatuated with the world or the ideas of men that we leave our responsibilities to others. Unfortunately as Michelle Landvik suggests -and is unfortunately true very few people in "church" actually believe, which is evident in the fact that they do not do what the Bible say, i.e. their actions (works) do not support/substantiate what they profess to believe.

  • @levipeterson663

    I don’t usually comment but I’m just kinda bothered by the thumbnail text on the last two videos. Yes parents should be the primary example to their kids of people who genuinely love God to the best of their ability but you can do both! You can and should teach your kids at home, at the grocery store, at the playground and you also can let them learn from other Jesus loving people at church. Not all churches are entirely corrupt, not all pastors are malicious and dangerous. The church organization can be a beautiful family of people of all ages trying to love God and people better together. And when that happens it is beautiful. I’ve had great Sunday school teachers and known genuine, faithful pastors and I’m so thankful for the leaders of the church I’m a part of and for their commitment to God and love for the gospel. Yes let’s be the best and primary example for our kids and people around us but please stop talking about the church as a whole as something not pleasing to God or as an institution that exists so power hungry people can manipulate others. I know it can be beautiful and pleasing to God because I’ve personally experienced that in my and life, still do experience that and want others, including my children to experience that as well. Youth group and children’s ministry are so valuable! They should’t be your only source of learning about God but they can still be a good one of many. I’m so sorry to hear you guys have experienced broken trust and abuse from people who claim to love God I really wish that never happened but like you said none of us is a perfect reflection of Jesus so it would be a shame to cancel church on account of those with a poor understanding of grace, repentance, discipleship and new life in Christ. All that to say, PLEASE DONT GIVE UP ON THE CHURCH BECASUE GOD HAS NOT GIVEN UP ON THE CHURCH! ❤

      I agree and never said the church is a building. I do think a it’s very hard for pastors shepherd large churches (and small churches) but by God’s grace it can be done and the way to do it is for them to not do it by themselves. They should have elders/deacons to keep them accountable and they should be doing their best to make disciples that make more disciples. That just means teaching the people they lead to have their own mature relationship with God and inviting other people into their life and sharing God with them.

      Thanks for you comment, I think I understand where you are coming from. Of course my thumbnails are meant to grab attention but I stand by what i believe to be true in the scriptures. I'm not sure if you watched the video but we talk a lot about what you explained in your first comment. The fact that many utilize youth groups and what not as their main source of discipleship for their children. So this entire episode is meant to inspire and challenge parents to stop relying on others to train up their children. Secondly, I think where the mix up comes in, in regard to the church being a building is the language we use. We say I don't believe the church is a building and then end with "don't give up on the church" or like you said in your first statement "you can learn from other Jesus loving people at church". Just interesting to think about how we say things because i absolutely adore the church (the body of Christ). The whole purpose of our podcast is to help the church. I believe we have built up a system loaded with traditions, programs and structures that we created yet aren't in the bible nor commanded by Christ yet the problem arises when we neglect the things he has instructed us to do. So what we end up with is a system that of course God will work through (but in spite of it not because of it). When we evaluate our current church model I see masses of people who do not understand how to make disciples and multiply, very dependent on the system of organized church. So again, our goal is not to throw shade or anger those who enjoy that particular model but to get the conversation going about what our goal is..is it numbers or maturity. Then we can start talking about what the scriptures show us. Again, I appreciate your response and how kind it was so I wanted to give you a thorough answer. Thanks for sharing. Also we are trying to help those that are hitting restrictions and walls in the traditional church setting or leaving in general, not those who are enjoying it and want to be there, for those I would encourage you,. if it works for you by all means don't feel like you have to listen to me.

      My revelation from God is that we are late in the season corruption. I know that most churches of today are run by Luciferian freema$ons. It takes a unique ability to be able to discern who is really running your church. I have had way too many “church leaders” giving false “prophetic words” with an agenda. Witches who claim to be doing deliverance who are in reality cursing you. Or pushing in demonic spirits. Many people like the large socialite way of church and getting a watered down version of the true Yeshua. But I can testify, if you knew what many people who run most of the church’s of today have been doing in the dark of the night… and for how many generations the enemy has been training tares in the word to infiltrate the churches… you would understand why these parents are using the upmost wisdom in their ability to discern and understand the brick walls of a church often times tend to do more harm than good. If you truly ask God and seek if the church is really something he is willing in this day… or has his hand over whatsoever… he may give you a different answer then your own opinion of what meets the eye. The subtlety of what the enemy is doing in churches is beyond most people’s discernment. I got to be a pro at it after being raised in a secretly Luciferian family of generational ma$ons and witches who you would NEVER GUESS are involved in the vile things they are involved in in secret.

      @@reChurchpodcast thanks so much for your response! It does help me understand where you are coming from better. I’ll admit I did not watch the whole video but probably about 75%. I would like to check out more of your videos to better understand your point of view, in due time. That being said I’d like ask you to please be very considerate about how you talk about the church because the Church ( the people whether part of an institution or not) is the bride of Christ. The very bride he is coming back for. That’s not to say all who are a part of a church actually know Jesus but that is for God to determine. I think your intentions are good but I just want to remind you that there are serious warnings in the Bible, that I’m sure you’re aware of, about leading anyone, especially little ones, away from Christ. I worry your message could be misleading, misunderstood or diluted if you don’t chose your words and thumbnail text VERY carefully. I hope you can hear I’m trying to say this all with love and genuine concern. I have no intention to tear down anything you guys are doing. Just please, please be careful and prayerful when talking about something like this because this a very serious matter with very serious consequences.

    But ALSO when Grace is /gets offered… ( for the purpose of doing better) it’s an opportunity to 1) repent ( change/do differently) 2) repair ( confess/acknowledge the wrong/mistake) 3)reconcile ( make /wrong doing RIGHT) otherwise opportunity for the ABUSE of Grace gets fostered without those 3 “R”’s

    Many 'christians' are theoretical in nature. When I played baseball as a kid, I never read a rule book, I learned through performance not study, the practice of the game helped me to learn the concepts and rules better than just memorizing rules. Christians are good at memorizing rules and knowing scripture on an intellectual level but do not have a clue how to live in a practical application of faith-based, kingdom practice. Of course study, meditation and prayer are important in study of the Word, but also living of the Word.

    I disagree about authority. We are each given authority to manage what we've been given on earth, whether good or evil. We're managers. That entails authority. The parables about talents, the wicked tenants, the ten virgins... Jesus's constant metaphors of fruit and his examination of the barren fruit trees. God's continuous examination of Israel's fruit throughout the prophets of the old testament. Adam and Eve on the garden... We're given authority over creation. Not only when we're literally speaking the word of God.. but in every action and choice we make. BUT, ALL will be judged for how we use our authority while here in earth. And the fruit we produce or don't produce. 'For everyone who has will be given more.. '
    Fruit not being works or 'good deeds', but how much fruit of the spirit is continuing to grow in is as we become more transformed into His image. More wise, loving, kind, patient... This transformation takes place through intimacy in hearing, listening understanding, seeking and knowing Him.
    Anyway, i don't disagree with a lot of things you guys say. I struggle with church. A lot. But sometimes the conversation comes off as moderately pretentious.

    Im loving your podcast. However, I'm a youth group leader st my church, and less than 50 percent of kids at my youth group have heard the REAL Gospel from their parents. I go to a Bible believing church, but i don't think many parents are DOING their job. Or they're not actually believers.
    There are so many wolves and false teachers in the Church, that the idea of a house church is sort of terrifying. Too many "believers" are Bible illiterate.

    • @reChurchpodcast
      @reChurchpodcast  2 місяці тому +5

      Yeah I agree with a lot of what you’re saying. That’s basically my point in this is that it’s parents responsibility to disciple the children. I know that’s not possible in all cases obviously but that’s what God intended. Also, I used to think the same thing about false teachers as if the traditional church setting was a safe guard against it. Then I thought through that and actually it’s not. Think about how many false teachers are leading their own congregations in a traditional setting. Also think about Jehovah Wittinesses or Mormons etc. The institutions don’t protect against that at all. Especially since if you have one person “at the top” who is deceived it tends to trickle down and affect so many more people

    • @mytreasuredcreations

      My question to you as a youth group leader is what are you doing to counter that Bible illiteracy ? I have seen so many gimmicks, programs, and "sermons" in youth program and they feel so not authentic. My own teenagers hate to go to youth. I wish that youth leaders would actually sit down and ask their youth why they come, what issues/ problems/ things are on their mind, and then bring Scripture into it. I wish that youth leaders would challenge their youth about the gospel message, the value of the word of God and Kingdom values. No shows, no yelling, no special music, just conversation. This is important to me. What's important to you? How can I help? Let me show what the gospel really is. I think the fear is if we're real, we'll hear the truth and we'll lose the youth. There must be a better way.

      I haven't watched this yet. But i saw this comment and thought I'd comment before I listen as well. How are Sunday School/ Youth Groups Biblical? It is okay to love one another and be there for any person of any age in the family of God. The problem is that Sunday school teachers and youth leaders/pastors have taken authority in areas that God never ordained. You should work alongside parents if that is your gift. Help them grow and disciple them alongside their children. You should never take the place of the spiritual leadership God has given parents. Our churches should model the early church. Have a look into the History of Sunday school and why it was started.

      @victoriadavidenko4695 I understand what you are saying but children's/teen ministry has become a sacred cow. It's an ideal that no one is allowed to question. Let me ask this, if you were in a church that had father's and mother's following after God and leading their children. The church as a whole was loving and discipling all who entered in. Would you still keep those ministries? As a parent who takes discipling my children to be God's design and will for me. Should I be made to feel like an outcast and wrong at church for doing Biblically what I'm supposed to do? There is a Biblical way and their is a need to reach these children. But this has been done the same way for so long and churches refuse to examine it. To find a solution that is Biblical and to do what is needful. So that parents and children are both getting the Gospel and your setting both up for the best outcome possible. But first let's tear down that sacred cow!
