Sounds like a snare
That’s my philosophy; as long as the drum is round and not made out of materials so bad that it falls apart, any of them will sound good
agree. nothing particularly unique about it to me.
I get the impression this is one of those in person, more for the drummer, kind of things. Don’t think mics to it justice!
@@liamdempsey7072 that as well haha, nuances that the drummer hears and prefers
One of the best sounding snares I have heard in quite a while. It reminds me of how my 1940s single ply maple Slingerland snare acts - open and beautiful at just about any tuning.
They build some incredible drums., love there innovation, and may I add they don't gauge the consumer. , you get what you pay for.!!
I'm generally not a fan of super high tunings on snares. But that one I really like.
I've always been a fan of low tunings for snare drums, but in this case, I actually preferred the higher tuning. What is this sorcery?
that thing is SINGING. wow 3:50
I like this snare quite a bit, but I could not hear a lot that was unique. Perhaps in person the sound may be more distinctive. So, a nice one for sure, but not tempting for me to go get one. Which is nice, since sometimes I see you highlight videos and then start shopping!!
I’m thoroughly impressed 🎉❤
If you guys can get hold of a Premier Project One snare (they have an internal shell and an external mic port) I'd love to hear your take on it.
They also did a 'hollow shell' kit with the resonator and black shadow kits
This snare sounds fantastic! The design ethos reminds me of a wood version of the Dunnett 2N series with the flange only on the top.
It sounds great!
It seems as if it could be a good drum for concert snare: Delécluse etudes, concert parts and so on.
Sounds fantastic...if this is only because of this special re ring is annother question....maybe a more standard re ring or none at all would be pritty close i guess....but a little bit of something spectacular,a bit something to talk about,is ok too....look at all the birds ...the male ones.... it's all natural.
Thanks for this epesode....inspiring !
I have a question beside the snaredrum.
What sticks do you use and what cymbal/Hihat?
Thanks a lot!
Amazing content over all!!!👌🥳
Sticks look like the Promark Carter Mac signature sticks and hihat look like Zildjian avedis series
Nice snare. What snare mic is that?
It sure is! That's the AKG C518M that we use on snares and toms in most of our videos. All of our equipment is listed in the descriptions of our videos if you're ever curious about anything else. Cheers!
Always played maple snare drums but around 8 years ago I tried a yamaha copper snare in a music store, If only i'd had the £600 to buy it...
Do Peavey RSB-1
What a lovely snare. Expensive?
You'd have to check with Doc Sweeney Drums regarding pricing.
I would refuse to use those drumsticks purely because theyre so ugly. They look like witch fingers. Having said that......great video & drum!
I'm a fan and own a stave hit with integrated reinforcement rings. I would like to hear it with an S-hoop or die cast though.
