Thanks, Justin! You know the capabilities of this guitar full well; it's outperformed guitars double the price. Originally I wanted the echo and reverb of the dance studio, but since the dog was outside it would have ruined the recording; however I'm quite satisfied with the dry and focused sound I got in the movie room.
@@Josh.Vanjani Absolutely, it looks very natural to me.🙂Your wrist is balanced, meaning neither too curved like of the old school players, nor super straight, which in general doesn't work best for the tone. Most importantly, your playing is very smooth, which says it all. Keep up the great work, you are awesome! I have watched plenty of your videos recently and I must say I am digging your passion for the instrument.😊
Thanks, Wyatt! That's exactly why I went with the Giannini guitar for this piece, the bass really popped from the Brazilian Rosewood. It was also a more focused sound recording it in the movie theater. I was originally going to do it in the dance studio, for the really resonant sound, but my Dad had put the dog in the backyard and I didn't want to pick up barking on the recording. I'll definitely do more in this opus, I picked up a copy of the Ricordi edition since I couldn't figure out which the order in which Ricordi selected the pieces from the original document on IMSLP.
Thanks, Steven! This is my Dad's home movie theater, so I suppose it was indeed built to have good acoustics. It's not a resonant acoustic like the garage, but I did like the focused sound for this piece (the garage is not heated and it was too cold to film). Since I forgot my mic tripod, I had to improvise and place my Tascam on a footstool, facing upward. I put it as close as I could without peaking; no volume adjustment needed this time. Glad to hear you liked the lighting I chose too, there are several different combinations, but this is the brightest. I'd also filmed flat in 24fps and color corrected to get the "film look".
Thanks! Finding the right footage to match the music can also be a challenge. In this video, I picked something that I thought matched the aesthetic of the music.
Thanks, Andre! Great observation about the "depth", I specifically selected the Giannini guitar for this performance because of the deep base notes it was able to produce. Just seemed to suit the piece best.
In Orlando sleepeth grade 4 trinity Classical guitar, above bar 9,it says minim=dotted minim,I have searched everywhere but am unable to find what it means;Any help would be appreciated
In music theory, “minm” refers to a note that lasts for 2 beats, so it seems your edition intends that it be held for 3 beats. A dot increases a note by half of its original value, so that would be 3. Since I don’t have that edition, I can’t say 100% that’s what is intended, but it’s my best guess. You can comment on my buddy Justin Hatt’s most recent video, if you want a 2nd opinion, because he has that edition. If this was helpful, check out one of my 3 interpretations of “Orlando Sleepeth” and leave a like and comment. Cheers!
Nice playing Joshua, great sound and projection you're getting to come through that guitar. And nice nature scene cut aways!

Sounding very good... beautiful scenery 👍
Thanks, Dad! I appreciate it!
Sounds wonderful. The nature video is a great match 👍🏻
Thanks, Mette! That's true, I tried to find a clip on hand to match the rhythm of the music.
Well done excellent performance and as always the added video work on repeat is a nice touch
Thanks, Todd! These preludes are fairly short, so I have to bump them up to at least 1 minute for watch time. Hoping to do more from this opus soon.
Nice piece, Josh. A very soothing room as well. Good to see you back on my feed
Thanks, Venacio! That's great to hear that I was in your feed!

I am loving how deep this one sounds Josh. I think I prefer the sound of your version versus my version! Do you think you will do more of this Op?

Sounds nice Josh, thought audio came out well (good room acoustic?) There is something rather pleasant about the orange backdrop and gentle lighting

Very nice to listen to. Congratulations Josh 😃
Thanks, Rudolfo! I used my Brazilian guitar for this piece, the Giannini.
@@Josh.VanjaniTrue, I hadn't noticed! The guitar matched the piece very well 😊
Nice playing Josh. I've said this before but your playing works well with nature scenes.

Thanks, Matteo! I agree, it's a great study for the right hand.

Thanks, Cynthia! I appreciate it! More Carulli to come soon.

@@cynthiaunderwoodguitar8426 I'd be happy to hear your classical works! The popular songs seem to do better in statistics though, so it's a trade off.
Nice job!
Thanks, Steven! That's quite the compliment coming from a music educator like yourself.
