Phoebus Sledding in the Mission Mountains (in a glider)

We got a late start, and the weather forecast was not promising. But I wanted to at least try--and managed a 38min sled ride. Unfortunately, if you wait for 100% soarable conditions, you'll fly a LOT less.

I did the similar on our way smaller hill in LKPN, Czech Republic. One hour flight, was even possible to jump to wave! But as it was only training flight with instructor, we did not try too hard :)

True. One of our sons did about 260km yesterday (here in NZ) on what others described as an average day, with a low cloudbase. Pretty much what he said, except that he went out and flew for distance.
