We also see this with babs seed but in her case it was more because of peer pressure more than her own will as she saw a direct treat at herself and the only way she avoided it was by joining the bullies. the psychology in the show is just fascinating to me and you learn a lot from the world around you by thinking about perspective and what others might feel that cause them to act a certain way.
and trixie being mocked snd called a failure and worthless and a charlatan just for following and expressing her talents and passions, so the point where when she sees someone else getting praised for their prowess and potential she cant tolerate it
Funny thing is: I used to hate Diamond Tiana cause she was snotty. But after seeing this episode and hearing this song, I now strongly relate to her cause of the emotional abuse she went through. Amazing remix.
MLP literally teaches you life lessons, teaches you about friendships, finding out oneself, being kind to others. I think it’s a nice way of showing that to kids at a young age, it’s just done with ponies!
This episode was my favorite out of them all. We get Diamond Tiara redemption on the level of Pacifica Northwest from Gravity Falls, and the CMC got their Cutie Marks! On top of that the episode was a musical!
Except Gravity Falls planned for her redemption and had subtle hints at Pacifica being redeemable. Before this episode there were no signs DT could become good.

It's truly amazing how Friendship is Magic was written, with how all those previous episodes of seeing Diamond Tiara so cruel and mean-spirited to the Crusaders and other ponies. Yet in this musical moment, all desires of wanting to do harsh things to her vanished instantly, replaced by wanting to reach out and hug her in a comforting forgiveness. One moment we all hate her, and the next, we feel sorry for her.
I always wondered about Diamond Tiara and why she acts the way she does. "She's just a spoiled mean girl" is rarely the way it works, especially not in these kinds of "everyone has a place" shows. Any time she was shown with her dad in the earlier seasons, he basically ignored her most of the time. The one instance he was shown paying direct attention to her, it was to scold her. Filthy Rich seems like the kind of Pony who has the resources to be a parent, but not the love necessary to raise a truly happy and well adjusted child. He probably thinks he can just substitute expensive gifts for love, which is where a lot of parents go wrong. If Diamond Tiara had some secret pain inside this whole time, and that's why she lashed out, I'm hardly surprised.
I was crying while listening to her sad song in the episode and just wanted to reach and hug her in a forgiving manner, after seeing how cruel and neglectful her mom was, who kept pushing her around to be how she was to everypony prior to her lament that she wants to be a better person.
After nearly three years away from the MLP fandom, this song singlehandedly brought me back and watching season 5. What an incredible remix of perhaps the best MLP song of all time. SimGretina, once again, great music.
I'm not even a brony, but I recently been dealing with a lot of traumatic events, some recent and others since the start of my life, and I recently came with the realization of how much everything impacted me and shaped me into something I dislike. This includes pressure and high expectations that was perceived as support, but ultimately was harmful. I sat down with one of my parents and discussed everything. I haven't felt so good and happy in a long time. This song was and is the embodiment of accepting myself but understanding there's always room for improvement at your own pace.
