That bacon was the LEANEST I've EVER seen! Here in states our bacon is at least half fat. So I'm very envious today twice, one for the abalone AND the other is the bacon! GREAT video, as always, so thanks for posting it! Enjoyed the cooking segment too! Wish I could have had a bite! Thanks, from the states!
Jay , you did have more of them ......but since you are such a kind and caring person you shared them with someone you care about very generously as always . You are a pleasure to watch .
Sorry I get asked so much I can’t , I only usally keep 10 for me an the rest go to my pop and dad , they give them out to other people that can’t get them
European "bacon" just ain't. Bacon is cured, smoked, pork belly. What Europeans call "bacon" is only thin sliced boneless pork chops. The closest thing I've seen is Italian "panchetta". It is cured bacon, just not smoked. (that can be fixed by rubbing a little "liquid smoke" on it and letting it marinade) [yes, liquid smoke is a thing]
Ha, not quite accurate but I fully understand what you mean..! I’d never tried them abalone that smash is having.. only place I found them was the local Chinky Take Away… bloody expensive.. all I tasted was soy, ginger, garlic, chilli, shallot, lime, with slices of a ‘chewy rubber band’ chucked in… I’ll blame the chef not the abalone, but wasn’t a great first experience of them. 🤦♂️
I like this. Thanks for putting the rocks back as you found them. It all helps.

Thank you ! Got to look after people these days 👌 I appreciate you watching
Good foraging, interesting video, thank you 😀👍
Interesting cooking, what temperature for the oven and what cooking duration?
you’re so generous!! tough work 😮 please do ur iconic ormer burgers next ❤
I feel like i could explore that place all day everyday and not get bored. So full of life and diversity.
Just remember that diversity is our strength !
- I thought you were going to eat the starfish, that's what made me click lmaoo. I was tricked. 😅
Same😭
Jay saying "see you later misses" to that cute female crab had me smiling..
I enjoy looking at all the small creatures haha brings out my soft side 😆
That bacon looks so good with the oremers 😊
Ormers in blankets looks good
Yummmmmmm 😊 looks great. I bet they tasted great 😊😊😊
Dude that water has to be freezing 🥶
It is but you get used to it 😂
Great vid smash…🔥🔥
Jay you said you really dont need alot of seasoning for seafood(bacon doesn't need salt either)
Would the weather be that dead calm on the other side of the island?
When are you gonna take a boat over to that little island where you and Sam got those huge abalone
Just need a really big tide , maybe next month
Cool I can’t wait those are huge over there
I was wondering do they have an octopus trap you can use I see on other channels your having a bit of a problem with them eating your lobsters
Half and half the sweat chilli sauce and honey 😊
Nice video smash
Have they any commercial value over there Dan ? Worth a fortune in Oz
No they can’t be sold commercially , some do small private sales to the locals but apart from that there no selling them
Can you eat star fish??
Sea pigs in blankets 👍
Yummy!
It looked like a fabulous meal. Wasn't so keen on that bacon though, there wasn't enough fat on it. Streaky is far nicer.
And a clam 😳
Do you think you could fill a small box up with Ormer shells if I send you the money for Postage?
Sorry I get asked so much I can’t , I only usally keep 10 for me an the rest go to my pop and dad , they give them out to other people that can’t get them
@@SMASHFISHING Understood brother, I get it. Ty for the response though.
❤🐟
😋👍
I was wondering how to eat a star fish but I guess not
I thought you had a boat and could go where no one is there
Don't you have your fishing rods anymore Smash, not seen you fishing for ages now. Either on the boat or foraging.
👍🇨🇦
you need to get yourself arm pit length gloves if there is such a thing.....
Of course there is, they use them when handling acids.
learn something new ormers is a jersey name for abolone , these are small compare to the australian ones

Thank you! Didn’t think it looked like what we call bacon around here.
You 'muricans and your smoking, just keep buffing yourselfs and keep that shit out of the food. 😂
Erm....we have streaky bacon which is cured smoked pork belly lmao
@@Grimm92a Yea, I've seen what y'all call "streaky bacon". That ain't bacon. That is chopped, formed bullshit.
