    I like this. Thanks for putting the rocks back as you found them. It all helps.

    That bacon was the LEANEST I've EVER seen! Here in states our bacon is at least half fat. So I'm very envious today twice, one for the abalone AND the other is the bacon!
    GREAT video, as always, so thanks for posting it! Enjoyed the cooking segment too! Wish I could have had a bite!
    Thanks, from the states!

    It looked like a fabulous meal. Wasn't so keen on that bacon though, there wasn't enough fat on it. Streaky is far nicer.

  • @greggwilliamson

    European "bacon" just ain't. Bacon is cured, smoked, pork belly. What Europeans call "bacon" is only thin sliced boneless pork chops. The closest thing I've seen is Italian "panchetta". It is cured bacon, just not smoked. (that can be fixed by rubbing a little "liquid smoke" on it and letting it marinade) [yes, liquid smoke is a thing]

      @Chris_Cracknell-vm4jr 11 днів тому

      Ha, not quite accurate but I fully understand what you mean..!
      I’d never tried them abalone that smash is having.. only place I found them was the local Chinky Take Away… bloody expensive.. all I tasted was soy, ginger, garlic, chilli, shallot, lime, with slices of a ‘chewy rubber band’ chucked in… I’ll blame the chef not the abalone, but wasn’t a great first experience of them. 🤦‍♂️

      @@Grimm92a Yea, I've seen what y'all call "streaky bacon". That ain't bacon. That is chopped, formed bullshit.
