+jonathan reiman HA! cuz some idiot dropped a heavy as Steel mug onto the glass to trigger a fracture. At least the glass didnt SHATTERED from contact with a mere Glass Bottle like the walkway in London's Tower Bridge (CNN Headline Nov. 2014: Dropped beer bottle shatters glass walkway at London's Tower Bridge). It literally took me two minutes to find these two. I'm sure there are more cracked glass incidents from other countries as well. For this Chinese glass bridge, the walk way is designed with multiple layers glass and safety bars. Only the top layer was damaged. All the other layers are untouched. And the top layer is meant to be replace eventually since its expected to be scratched and all. At no point was anyone in danger. But of course, typical western trolls/propaganda media/news outlets blow every little thing up it can to use in it anti-china smear campaign. It really shows their desperation. And its even more pathetic when they get call out for having worst shit. HAHAHA! I'm laughing, Jonathan, not with you though, but at you.
I love how so many Americans are criticizing China's infrastructure building skills, when half of their own domestic bridges are under-maintained and several have collapsed over the years. I am sure that the Chinese like the tourists money and want them to keep coming back, hence they would of used appropriate materials.
Well, some glass is actually quite strong. You can use it just like any other material, without it being as brittle as the stuff in your windows. It's just a bit more expensive, generally.
Thats actually what someone did to test it, he used a sledge hammer to try and break the glass but barley cracked. Even used a car. But its perfectly safe.
If you have fear of heights, crawling across is the best option but even that wouldn't save you from screaming and crying when you reach the middle of that glass bridge.
I am the same, deathly afraid of heights all my life. FYI, there is a UA-cam video I watched years ago of a guy working at the top of an extremely tall cell tower. It made my heart race just watching the video.
Just watching this video makes me hyperventilate.....I COULD NOT do it.....I hate heights..I cant even walk up stairs that when you look down you can see through to the bottom...
I used to work on the 10th floor of an office building with a large atrium running all the way up the middle, the bathrooms were on the atrium and accessed by a narrow walkway, I got my fair use out of them because everytime I used them it scared the shi# out of me
Wow! No way would I attempt to walk across that bridge😂 It would totally freak me out. I couldn’t even bring myself to walk across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in my country of Wales .
I love that you mentioned that. I went and looked it up as I do with all commented locations and it's like an invitation to travel the world by cell phone! I noticed NO rails and did not know it's a boat bridge and it really high so don't feel so bad there have been some accidents lately.🎉
@@FirstnameLastname-tp4zw As I blithely started crossing the bridge with some friends one friend said to my husband “she obviously hasn’t read the sign “cross if you dare” I had turned to look at a boat coming up the canal and saw a sheer drop on the other side, It made me feel as though I was suspended in mid air😂😂
That's nice that they where protection for their shoes and all, but... Did those engineers ever think about what would happen or how slippery this would be if it rains?
+Neique Raymond Probably not. Good thing you pointed that out, since you seem to be smarter than the engineers... Did you ever think that most probably, the bridge is closed when it rains?
Norell A. Winburn Hey Mr. Winburn, yeah you that made that comment. I'm not gonna lie, you did make a good point. However, the 14 morons that agreed with you might wanna check this out. looks like it won't take rainfall to close this failure of a bridge after all. www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/cracked-chinese-glass-bridge-alarms-tourists/ar-AAfc0bH?ocid=ansmsnnews11
The architects and engineers who designed and built this glass-bottom bridge had to make sure the perfect safety of this bridge before they let the visitors/tourists walk on it. The company that was responsible for building this bridge doesn't want to be sued if something happens to the bridge that causes injuries or deaths to visitors. Better safe than sorry.
people are dumb I work for a glass company it's engineered to hold hundreds of pounds per square foot. even if a piece was to brake you wouldn't fall threw. it's not just glass there's a very strong piece of plastic in between two pieces that would prevent you from falling threw.
No amount of money in the world could ever make me even come close to that bridge.
Agreed. No thanks!
Not a chance
Right
Agree you never know
In that case you’re missing out. This bridge is nothing. Not sure why people get weak on their knees like this. Scared? Don’t look down. So simple.
You couldn't pay me to cross that bridge. I'd have a stroke just looking at it.
***** Still a HUGE NO😰😰😰
Give me a small loan of a million dollars, and I'll think about it
The screeching sound makes the experience even more scary.
Even at night the experience is more scary.
That's just the way spoken Chinese sounds.
A Chinese made glass-bottom bridge? What could go wrong?
+god Watch the video. Nothing it seems.
+god yeah just like the great wall?
+god "MADE IN CHINA".....I'd rather pass and enjoy the video, even if I was in China.

+deepwoodtickles why are these people holding on to the rope for? just walk normally....really weird
Part of it cracked--- Irs closed for repair ..
you're dumb as fuck
It's scary you fool. They can see 600 feet below. Any person in the right state of mind will feel fear or thrill.
But they caused the Corona virus tho 😂😂
Astonishing....how did they build it ?....truly hair raising...an amazing piece of engineering.
I think they made it out of glass, or some kind of see through metal.
Well, some glass is actually quite strong. You can use it just like any other material, without it being as brittle as the stuff in your windows. It's just a bit more expensive, generally.
Layers of thick glass and glue. Glass is quite strong, you know? If used right.
Nope, not for me, but thanks for increasing my anxiety by 10 fold. Nightmares inbound.
Join my repetitive nightmare, me climbing up the staircase in a tall multi-storey building and stairs starts to fall apart, I'm happy to wake up.
Do it in your nightmares. Try to make your nightmares as scary as possible. Encourage your nightmares. It's the only way to build up courage.
Indeed ❤️👍👍👍😮💨😮💨😮💨
They should install hidden speakers that play cracking noises!
Un peu sadique la proposition
imagine carrying a sledgehammer across that bridge and accidentally dropping it
Thats actually what someone did to test it, he used a sledge hammer to try and break the glass but barley cracked. Even used a car. But its perfectly safe.
I’d run across screaming it’s cracking, it’s cracking...
lol!
Man you're crazy asf

Those on glass bridges shouldn't throw stones.
Brave!!!!! Chinese are very brave & sound technologist. Well appreciate from Bangladesh.
If i even looked on the glass below me i would have a heart attack
Me too!
Ma che cazzo è quella roba
But how would you know if one of the floor panels was missing?
This is a fooking crazy idea.
The squeaking alone would cause me to have a heart attack!

Sorry but the squeaking and creaking is by far the scariest part of that bridge lol

Does that bridge have a weight limit?
OK, I'd probably keep my hand on the rail, but i wouldn't walk like I'm on a thin ice lake or something lol
They obviously don't see the reinforcement below the glass panels. Even if the glass breaks, you're not just gonna instantly plummet
Nice
@.@ Gorgeous bridge. TY for the vid! This is a close as I want to get to it. (How you even build something like that anyway?) Just wow.
Crossing at night would be SWEET!

In a lightning storm, all though it would not be allowed
Love it
If that bridge was wider, strong and sturdy, without moving at all, then I could walk over.
I never go over this!!!!!
My soul left my body
I would love to walk on this during monsoon season.
Monsoon in China?
This is why it's important to stay in school. 🙄
Lol at the people grabbing onto the handles. If the bridge does collapse, handles are absolutely useless.

Only walking them once is what you’re risking when relying on Chinese manufacturing.

I dont think i can do this crossing that bridge, but if so a medical staff will accompany me , im senior now😂😂😂
