Shivs are 'small weapons', so Sylvie doesn't get her bonus to ranged attacks from them.
There is slashing and piercing damage (the sword or bow icon) which is separate and distinct from the type of attack, either melee or ranged attack.
Took a while for me to realize that the damage type does not necessarily correlate with the type of attack.
I happened to run this comp yesterday as well and it really was something else. I got the power coil in the late game too so I was running around with a 20 power Sylvie. Could have been even crazier if I had the tempest bow available.

Yeah, I think they underestimated the 3 shots for 2, it would probably be fine if the starting damage was 1 with this build
You can get stanza II at turn one.
Try search for "stanza II" instead.
Only shame is that all those cards are Corrupted :/

Was this done by using divinations? Because rares aren't available in town 1, right?
What's the point of visiting the caravan at the start? Is it just 1 additional place visited for final score?
