- "About You Now" is a song by British girl group Sugababes from their fifth studio album, Change (2007). Written and produced by Dr. Luke along with Cathy Dennis and Steven Wolf, it was released on 24 September 2007 by Island Records as the lead single from the album, the first to feature Amelle Berrabah on all tracks. An uptempo pop track that combines heavy elements of pop rock, and dance-pop, it infuses light electronic sounds. Lyrically, "About You Now" finds the protagonist thinking deeply over her relationship with her love interest from whom she parted.
The song was generally well received by music critics, who complimented its genre mixing production as well as its US pop influence. The song has been described as a "pop-electro-rock masterpiece" and the best Sugababes single in years. Upon its release, "About You Now" became the group's sixth UK number one hit and highest-charting single since 2005's "Push the Button". It remained atop the UK Singles Chart for four weeks. It also reached the top of the charts in Hungary, as well as the top ten in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Norway, and Spain. It is Sugababes' highest-selling single to date, having sold more than 500,000 copies.[1]
"About You Now" was nominated for a 2008 BRIT Award for Best British Single. In the 2009 edition of Guinness World Records, "About You Now" was listed as the "first track by a British pop act to top the singles chart solely on downloads". The song was also named as the "biggest chart mover to the number one position in the UK".[2] In December 2009, it was revealed by BBC that "About You Now" was the UK's fifth most-played song of the decade (2000-09).[3] An acoustic version of the song appears as a bonus track on the group's sixth studio album Catfights and Spotlights (2008).
Miranda Cosgrove covered was released as single on January 28, 2009 from her EP of the same name.[58][59][60] The original lyrics were slightly altered to be made more suitable due to Cosgrove's younger audience. Cosgrove's version was promoted heavily on Nickelodeon, where the music video was played during commercial breaks.
The song has become her highest peaking song to date in the US, peaking at number 47 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was heavily promoted by Cosgrove. During her first ever live performance, Cosgrove performed the song at the 2008 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade[61] On 5 February 2009, Cosgrove released an extended play, titled after the song. The EP, which released to the iTunes Store, features a total of five songs - "About You Now", "F.Y.I.", and "Party Girl", and features remixes of "About You Now" and "Stay My Baby". Aside from this performance, Cosgrove also performed the song on Today on 6 September 2010, along with future single "Kissin U", and a then unreleased track, "BAM", both off of her debut studio album Sparks Fly released on 27 April 2010.

these girls went into exploring so many musical directions like almost no one else ( All Saints have their share on this)...if you look at the US Acts like Destiny s Child ,they pretty much always stayed in the comfort RnB Lane ...but Sugababes ..they did a real music research throughout their carreer ,challenging themselves with the freshest priductions from all kinds of music ... Great

Amelle and Heidi helped the band succeed so much. They had there biggest hits with Heidi and Amelle. They both will forever be Sugababes.
@@loveandpeace_totheworld I liked a lot of the songs that the Sugababes did when Amelle was part of them, but I also thought that, the Sugababes as a brand "jumped the shark" when she joined.
Replace 1/3 of the original trio? OK. Replace 2/3 of the original trio? That's a bit much for me. Ironically when it happened I thought to myself "if they replace Keisha then the original 3 might as well get back together!"
@@Jeremyparkeryes but they had no choice. Mutya left because she wanted to. And they just had their first Nr 1 album and their biggest single (Push the button). So the choice was between 1. Ending 2. Adding a new member.
It made sense for them to continue. And they had 6 top10 hits including their biggest hit.

I understand people loving this song but I easily think it's the girls' cheesiest single lol. Siobhan sticks out particularly awkward on this track, and there's a lot of other songs they should be doing that works much better with their OG lineup, honestly
replacing Heidi didn't work well in this song...
I didn't like Jade's vocals on this song. I love her vocals,but not on this. Keisha just has the best vocals for this!

Mutya does not have a great voice she had.
Shobian does not fit in Heidi's songs. Singing old hits in new/first lineup is not something we will wow (we =teenagers geowing up with their hits while MKH were Sugababes. Shobian had only Overload, in Run for cover you can't hear her. So as a teenage girl back then (now I'm their age) I am confused who's the red one. I found out she was in first lineup but the era of hits and popularity came in 2001. Sorry. Can't bring back time. New kids listen new stuff. Old kids listened to M K and Heidi and ask hwo's the third chick, what's she doing cause she does not fit in lineup 2 stuff. Make new music and create new hits. Maybe it will work cause this don't.
