Loving these. Currently building my own offgrid cabin in tropical Australia. Bought the land outright and now doing all the building myself while living in a leaky 1970s caravan. Good times, praise God for the opportunity.

Really enjoying this series, sir, thank you! One of the great joys in my life has been the time spent in the shop and garage with my dad building furniture or finishing renos on a house, and watching you do this project step-by-step, methodically, is a wonderful reminder of that. Makes me realize I haven't appreciated that time enough though.

I used to be a professional builder, custom log home repair and renovation was my favorite thing to do. I was in renovation and got known for custom carpentry reno work. I used to use fancy tool belts. Back injuries have gotten to me so I use a nail bag, with a rasp, a tape, a nail set, utility knife, and sometimes a small utility side cutter. Lol that's my kit these days. I'll still do small custom things if someone asks for help or teach them in the process. Always wear suspenders now too.

if you use a longer holder (perhaps 6 inch) for your P2 driver bit, you will find its easier to see that it is in line to the screwhead, reduce skidding and thus damage to both. I find that a longer holder only rarely gets in the way of driving.

When ripping on the table saw, slip a couple of fingers of the pushing hand over the fence. If something goes wrong, this helps keep the hand from being thrown into the blade.

If you are going through the trouble of ripping the bullnose off the boards its often a good idea to just buy bigger dimensional lumber auch as 2x12's for your rips because the lumber tends to be higher quality than 2x4's and you can choose something that will get you some quarter sawn grain for better stabilty long term.

Quick question: Why didn't you face screw the first set of rafter trusses to avoid the screws hitting each other when you installed the second side? Perhaps I missed it in the video but something you probably compensated for off camera.
