Thanks for sharing this Florida glider flying history! The limited narration really helps and pretty good camera work considering. Got my ground-launch endorsement in 2007 at Immokalee in a 2-33 and actually caught a thermal up off one auto-tow.
I wish you could have gotten more of a shot of the piston planes.. I learned to fly out of Flying Seminole Ranch in a Aeronca Champ... This almost brought a tear ! Thank you for posting this Video... Of course now there's houses there all in the name of progress... Many many good times on that field !! Times were so simple back then ...
Oh my gosh, that was wonderful. What special times we had (my Dad, Fred and everybody) had at the gliderport. I had forgotten Bob and Mark's names and faces. I, of course remembered Knut. I miss my father every day!!!!!! He must have taken off and landed a hundred times each day. Thank you, Ray.
You are welcome Vicki! I was very happy to find the website you have for your father and glad you replied to my inquiry. Days long past, but not forgotten.
WOW!! I did some glider training there in mid 1970’s. What fond memories! Thanks for sharing.
