I love Peruvian markets, you’ve transported me back to my magical time in Cusco and Iquitos. Their art is truly beautiful and unique. I love the sound of the leaf shakers, it brings back meaningful memories of their Icaros, it’d always get more intense when they started shaking them. That place really is something else.. super cheap too. I got an apartment on AirBnb for $400 a month

Interesting how the art is very similar to central asian art. Not too surprising because they also have shamanistic aspects, the nomadic life, deep connection to nature and being like these cultures. Interesting fact: the word shaman comes from the Steppes/Siberia. Although their use of botanicals is more elusive
