Morten Balazs im norwegian, and this song is used in really many youtube videos, i mean the orginal song... pretty much none notices it :D i personally like the song pretty much
I really did not know Zedd been in the scene for this long. We didn't have smart phone with internet, and it was very hard to discover new artists from Hollywood. Nevertheless, I found him when I could and liked him in general. I found this song today and I am in LOVE with his art now!
Pop Zedd isn't as bad honestly, he's still making master craftsmanship, however I must agree that Electro-House Zedd was better in my opinion. The craftsmanship in his songs were more apparent back then. Now that craftsmanship is found in a rare couple of songs. I honestly am glad he is at least trying to find new ways to create his craftsmanship as opposed to other artist who keep reusing the same thing over and over again.
Top5 Zedd songs. The story behind the song is even better. This song is a product of a party bus (RUSS, just google the phenomenon) from Norway celebrating their last year of high school and they wanted their own special song so they took contact with Zedd and made a deal for a personal song. The same year another bus even got a personally made song from Skrillex, Disco Rangers.
It's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edward Grieg, and it's the final movement in the Peer Gynt Suite. The motive is actually used throughout this whole song. Also, it's not in Fantasia. You probably have heard it on random commercials or something. It's always in them. Also, it's a popular one to teach to elementary kids in music class.
One of my all time favorites by ZEDD and all time favorite tracks. I still play this even to this day. Thank you Anton for being such an inspiration to me among with others such as Armin van Buuren. Every one of you shaped my childhood (that was more AvB and Tiesto and other old school trance artists actually) and teenhood.
How you manage to tie those 2 completely different things together is beyond me. Just because they both start with 'Dov' does not mean they are related.
I don't know why everyone thinks this came out in the 90s... Anyone hear that modern talking wavetable? NI MASSIVE KIDS!!! It was released on Dim Mak in 2011. The fleshquartet sample is from 1995.
Norway is a part of Scandinavia, and Dovregubben is said to be the king of the Norwegian Trolls. "Dovregrubbens Hall" is also music piece by Edvard Grieg, based on the tales of "Per Gynt" (where we meet Dovregubben) by Henrik Ibsen.
Tyvm Jilly, I could not for the life of me remember, though I do remember learning my scales on Piano with this song so long ago, so far away. I know it from commercials and what not , but so many Classical movements and Composers are so very similar it reminds me that a lot of them were contemporary rivals and fans of each other and Stole each others styles at times, much like Rappers and Remixers of today. But thank you again for refreshing my poor, riddled memory.. Much obliged. :-)
This is an interpitation of the classical piece the hall of the mountain king. The original title for this song (in the original Norwegian) is Dovregubbens Hall. And as Tim Sebastian has pointed out... The mountain king or Dovregubben is a really big troll from the play Peer Gynt by Henrik Ibsen. This song was originally composed for this play.
Dovregubben's hall is the original norwegian name the composer Edward Grieg gave the song. It was then translated to hall of the mountain king so that the english audience would understand
It's a classical piece by the name of "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg. "Dovregubben" translates to "Mountain King," which makes a lot of sense. =)
I agree. All his new songs are bleh compared to what he used to do. He actually made amazing music, before he was famous. He did not need to make all the new songs he has made. The older songs of his are the best. Also, Zedd has this irreplaceable sound, that no one can even remotely copy. So Zedd, If you are reading this, (but I will be honest, no one ever reads the comments this far down) please make music like you did before you were famous. All the songs like Follow You Down, Push Play, or Lost at Sea, made you my favorite DJ, and honestly, make more songs like the older ones please.
@@farrel48x Back then, people considered those songs "mainstream" and "too poppy." Remember when Break Free by Ariana Grande or Beauty and a Beat by Bieber were considered pop even if they were pure EDM songs? I think it was only in 2016 that producers started making actual soft pop songs
The Old Zedd ; the best ZEDD
You have too much reason :(
A great underrated track by one of my favorite artists.
indeed, the original song is Norwegian
Morten Balazs im norwegian, and this song is used in really many youtube videos, i mean the orginal song... pretty much none notices it :D i personally like the song pretty much
Sivert Hoset
I love In the hall of the Mountain King, it’s so hard to find good remixes/covers of it.
2:11 I think I have hear this rhythm

RIP
hard to overstate how much of a masterpiece this track still is 12 years later 🤯
Electro-House Zedd > Pop Zedd
I miss those 2011 days where everyone was dropping monstertracks like this one
Pop Zedd isn't as bad honestly, he's still making master craftsmanship, however I must agree that Electro-House Zedd was better in my opinion. Back to the days when Zedd was real Zedd :D
There should be an album with all his remixes :)

One of my all time favorites by ZEDD and all time favorite tracks. I still play this even to this day. Thank you Anton for being such an inspiration to me among with others such as Armin van Buuren. This deserves more recognition.
i miss this zedd
I went to see skrillex live, before he came out, zedd opened for him. Crowd was insane when he played.
So much better then shave it. Listened to this like 100 times over the summer.
How you manage to tie those 2 completely different things together is beyond me.
Just because they both start with 'Dov' does not mean they are related.
2:40-2:53 The hell was that? It blew me away.
Zedd with his influences from his youth (i guess).. they come out pretty damn EPIC
One of the earlier tracks of zedd i first listened and its still gold
@a13day
It is from the play: Peer Gynt. It is called in English: In the hall of the mountain king I think and in Norwegian it is: Dovregubbens Hall.
2:54 is awesome
I don't know why everyone thinks this came out in the 90s... Anyone hear that modern talking wavetable? NI MASSIVE KIDS!!! It was released on Dim Mak in 2011.

Proud to be norwegian when i heard this tune! :D
Go dovregubben
I love how painful 2:40 is when wearing headphones

Edvard Grieg, NORWAY IS THE DAMN MOUNTAIN KINGS!
I realized that Zedd is german,so i love him even more! :D

Clearly its not! Its more electro house. Finally someone who actually realise that not every electirc made music is dubstep! Cudos :D
At 2:47 - 2:52 it feels like my ears are being stabbed and they are about to explode.
what is this type of sound clip called?
it might be a looped piece of audio with an ever decreased length time
i believe that this effect has be done with izotope stutter its a triggered piano loaded with effects
sounds kinda like EXTRATONE, an uncommon genre.
Oh Gawd 2011?! How did I miss such an awesome mix?! T.T
he wasnt known at this time.
WilliamL0525 Was he not? lol, I knew about him when he made the zelda remix.
Direct zKid Good for you, but most people that know him now didn't know him back then.
Direct zKid what william here's trying to say is he wasnt popular that time
Well thats some sort of Edward Grieg - In the hall of the mountain king song ... great work this time :) love it
Still Zedd's best drop, and few songs will ever be able to match it.
this is beyond dope!!

well done zedd.
Dovregubben's hall is the original norwegian name the composer Edward Grieg gave the song. It was then translated to hall of the mountain king so that the english audience would understand
Best of the BESTS!!
As a Norwegian, this music is a bit nostalgic. I love it!
no, are you kidding? Thank you so much I would have never guessed without you
It's a classical piece by the name of "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg. "Dovregubben" translates to "Mountain King," which makes a lot of sense. =)
2:11-2:53
Omg, dubstep and a theme song from animation tv from the 90's !!! Thumbs up if you is from 90's :-D
2:41 - 2:54 blew my mind
This message could be an advertissement put on every electronic music posted on youtube .
the bass placement on 1:45 is the same with Aura by Lady GaGa on the 2nd verse of her song
make a proof video comparing it (i could do it but im too lazy)
2:50. Hardest beat drop in dubstep history.
Electro House*
It's "In The Hall Of The Mountain King" from the "Peer Gynt Suite" by Edvard Grieg (1875). Very nice version!

Released in 1995?! HE WAS 6 (or at best 7)?! how the hell?
Lol I saw that too, I think it must be an error or something.
Weatherbrony Dovregubben was actually released in 1876, Zedd 'just' remixed it. I think you should now the melody :P
Marcus Burghardt Haha, I do. Still doesn't make sense on iTunes though, but there have been errors like that.
Weatherbrony oh sorry, haven't noticed that you're speaking about iTunes aswell.. Well yeah, kinda strange then :p
zedd everything you do is absolutely amazing!
Hall of the Zedd King :)
This is what Zedd is all about!
Not his new pop songs with awful singers!
Electro House at its finest!

Ethan Savage his newer songs are songs he likes too. He enjoys making club bangers but he also love pop music.
I don't think Zedd made a pop song 6 years ago from now. I didn't include Find You, Spectrum or Clarity as a pop song
