The amount of people starting to realize the potential gains from investing in sealed product, especially PC ETBs and booster boxes is astronomical right now. I feel like more and more people are jumping in every day. 151 definitely pulled in all the 30-35 year olds and now they're all hooked. Pokemon and the hobby is in a really good place right now. Great video bro. 2025 is about to be BANGER!
I’m 35 and got hooked from fusion strike been ripping since and completed celebration set, 151 , crown zenith, obsidian flames, stellar crown and a few others luckily pre ordered two Eevee PC ETBs before it got sold out minutes later the new arts are solid can’t wait for rockets
@@beezo-f5p nice bro. Sounds like you've got a solid collection going. I think the Eevee PC ETBs will be back up again at some point, but even better you secured it just in case. Team Rocket set will be crazy and the new owners Pokemon set too. 🔥
I started collecting 151 this summer and it's been a ride since then. I've got a local market I'm selling and it's been consistent since then. Got a full case of etbs on preorder this week. Can't wait for 2025.
I was picking something up at 5below for my partner the other day and I grabbed a pack of twilight masquerade at the register. Walked out to my car and opened a Greninja EX sir in disbelief out of a single 5 dollar pack.
The fact that I can collect something that I love that has attached value encourages me to collect. Not all of us extra income to buy things they love that don’t have value. Love the content.
I am in such love in pokemon, my dad and uncles are all buying and investing in pieces such as graded, sealed and singles! I love your videos my man and you honestly make my whole family have a great time when watching. You were so right about other sets in which actually made me a couple hundred aussie bucks! I love you man! ❤🔥🙏
I simply just do whatever I want/can afford to do as I go along (as far as Pokémon cards go). I try to collect what I want, I try to flip what I want, and I hold product for long term. It has been super fun because my expectations are not to turn profit on everything I come across. Some products/cards, I just want to have in my collection and sometimes I can turn a profit although I don’t care too much if I do/don’t. Just be responsible and only use expendable/fun $$ and you’ll be fine.
I like the new take with this kinda content! I wonder what 4 things that would be “good to avoid” in the hobby are 👀 keep up the great work! Have a great week!
I sold a PSA 10 Starlight Blue Eyes from Animation Chronicles 2022 and a bunch of non holo pokemon rares at Collectacon today and got $160 plus a Giratina Vstar from Crown Zenith.. I felt like I got a decent deal personally.. I had a lot of fun.
I agree with all points, but I'm curious on the argument of the PSA 10 purchase being a bit contradictive. If I really want one card, and buying it as a 10 is an investment, I think it would make it a lot more difficult to sell that card if that's what it was planned for! Shouldn't I buy another card I'm more willing to sell but believe has high potential? Curious on peoples thoughts of this, I also prefer collecting cards over slabs so this may be why I find it hard to agree with that one point. Great video
Would like to hear you talk about the current surging sparks price increase. I've seen a lot of discourse online about how the price is NOT going to go down and will only keep getting higher, which seems hard to believe. I only got back into the hobby a few months ago so I don't know how previously hyped sets played out once released
I need to get OUT of Pokemon investing. I was doing the hobby because of my son. But he is now 15 & over the hobby/investing in Pokemon. I want to go back to being a 50 yo mom & patient advocate but I’m drowning in Pokemon. Any advice on what to do when you are ready to sell it all? I’ve tried eBay, Etsy, FB market place but I want to sell everything. Thank you for your information.
I'm 35, and I got sucked into this with 151. I managed to complete master set for about $900, and now I would like to sell a couple of my sealed Lego sets to collect Prismatic set too. However, keeping sealed products... Idk, I don't see much thrill in that.
Personally think you must enjoy pokemon at least abit to collect even for money. Much easier ways. I open a booster box and trainer box of each set then buy the remaining to finish sets for future master set sales, but I also buy 1 of each booster box to keep. I know it's not gonna make me rich but in 10 years ima have 50+ separate booster boxes cool either way aha
I want to "invest" but also I want to enjoy the game but there is too many scalpers, at my costco people scalped the 151 mini tins that were for $38 and now reselling for $80 so its hard to enjoy collecting when people do this
@@phillips.collectiblesThanks! I have at least 1 booster box/ETB of each SV set so far. Just bought a seal case of sleeved Twilight😁. What's your latest pickup?
Appreciate u could share ideas for “small player” I have been collecting single sealed bb for each set rather than focusing on 1 set With the upcoming eevee set, the price surely surging up.
i personally enjoy doing both profiting from my hobby and collecting it's only the losers who get mad if anyone tries to do both tbh then they try to label us scalpers" nothing wrong with making a lil money from your hobby and collecting along the way that's how most of us build larger collections anyways that's literally the only reason most of us collector/investors even stick around in this hobby. what idiot wants to buy and drop thousands into something with no return on investment; I personally don't want to drop thousands on something and have my collection be worthless years later nah fam
Good points, I think the fact this you have tangible products is a huge reason people are getting back in to it like you said, the world is getting more digital and people definitely are getting fed up of that
I'm a rather large Pokémon sealed investor but this channel which used to be very informative has become nothing more than an estate agent level sales push.
Excuse me sir just keep your misinformation to yourself there is a reason his channel continues to grow, I’m a rather large collector of sealed and unsealed product it’s people like you that turn other away from the hobby keep comments that aren’t informative to yourself man! Have a blessed day friend!

Just like stocks, if everyone keeps, the bubble expands, when people start selling, well rip to the scalpers/people who invested a lot unfortunately
@Nekomimix ok

The thing with sealed products for me is it's financially wiser to keep em sealed but I just wanna open them anyways
Always hard to keep them sealed because you never know what might be inside.
Agreed
the gambler in me is struggling every time I remember I have a few boxes of sealed products in my drawer
Oh I always keep em in a normal brown box with most of my other boxes together so I tend to forget their whereabouts, keeping me away from them 😂
I am getting at least 2 of the sets I like. One to open and one to keep sealed. I couldn't see it sealed without opening some.
100% agree with #2. Looking back over the last year I've gained an enormous amount of experience in the hobby just by enjoying it
I was picking something up at 5below for my partner the other day and I grabbed a pack of twilight masquerade at the register. Walked out to my car and opened a Greninja EX sir in disbelief out of a single 5 dollar pack.
I'm into alot of different hobbies and use them to fund each other if I sell an rc car I might use it for pokemon and vice versa I love hobbies!
Same haha fantasy football, card collecting and filmmaking
You got me back into Pokemon collecting. After watching what to go buy. I did. And over the last few months everything has shot up massively
That's awesome! The market is definitely moving.
Reason 5: boxes hold value, if your moneys in boxes instead of in a bank you're avoiding inflation
The fact that I can collect something that I love that has attached value encourages me to collect. Not all of us extra income to buy things they love that don’t have value. Love the content.
Excellent video. Gosh, I love the sophistication of your videos bro, always have. Keep it up. Hope you're enjoying Dragon Ball Daima!
i think the pokemon classic collection is going to be instresting to follow over time, due to it being pokemons high roller.

I bought 2 Pokemon Center Surging Sparks and 1 Eevee Prismatic:) can't wait
Nice one! You got in just at the right time
I really appreciate this video. I've been wanting to make a video on this topic if I ever started a YT channel.
I like the new take with this kinda content! I wonder what 4 things that would be “good to avoid” in the hobby are 👀 keep up the great work! Have a great week!
Pokemon has been great! I really enjoy taking a couple minutes each day to learn about older sets, chase cards and different artists.
Great pieces of advice Phillips, it’s always fun to enjoy your hobby and not feel bored while doing so.
100% it gives you something extra to enjoy

Any tips on how to get the new sets early either from gamestop or PC??
Great stuff as usual Phil! I appreciate you! Been buying product all this year. Thanks again🥲
Nice one! What’s some of the pick ups?
@@phillips.collectiblesThanks! I have at least 1 booster box/ETB of each SV set so far. Just bought a seal case of sleeved Twilight😁.

Another solid video !!
Top video's 👌
I cannot decide if to collect and invest in Surging Sparks or Prismatic Evolution ... I dont have money for both.
Appreciate u could share ideas for “small player”

With the upcoming eevee set, the price surely surging up.
I love collecting pokemon cards. I don't buy every set. I just pick up a PSA 10 chinese Lillie from the dreams come true collection.
Do a video on the next Eeveelutions set that’s coming out next year 🙌🏽🙏🏽
Was expecting a prismatic evolutions video 😂
Thank you:)
Got my CGC bulk back and did great!! Invested in a blaine's charizard and got the 10 grade!!! Great profit!
Phil, what do you think about buying a booster box case of surging sparks and keeping most sealed as an investment?
Sooo what's the price of Bubble Mew going to be in 2050? Interested to hear what people think.
$3k-5k in a PSA 10
7:36 this is the challenge for me! How can I monetize my hobby to the next level?
Invest in sealed when it’s at a high! So it can drop by summer and everyone loses money

Nicely put! 🙌
I was lucky enough to preorder the prismatic evolution Pokemon center ETB. Should I keep sealed when it shows up or do I rip?
@hellsxrebellion
Enjoy it it! Rip into that bad boy and enjoy yoursen, it’ll be the box with the chase card if you keep sealed , Sod’s Law ! Lol
Good points, I think the fact this you have tangible products is a huge reason people are getting back in to it like you said, the world is getting more digital and people definitely are getting fed up of that
I think so too. Especially since we want to own the product.
I thought I would hate it ..but Pokemon pocket is FIRE! 👀
Would you pick up on some booster bundles of paldean fates?
Fire
I hope people are investing in more traditional assets as well. 🙃
Flipping cards to invest in gold.
Wait did you used to sell your LUTs?
No that wasn’t me, Mmght have me mixed up with someone else!
This is why you should reject digital currency like your life depends on it.
Im way too early lol cheers
Open everything
not now ss and pe wait til 2025
