Got that room looking super! No heating or cooling, or are you in an area that doesn't require conditioned air? Can't wait to see this layout room and layout progress. Very neat! Stay well. -Wil 👍
Thanks Wil, we definitely need both! I'm in the process of installing a reverse cycle in the main clubhouse room, but we'll probably need a second heating unit in the layout room. We get extremes in temp. Those windows are western facing so I've purchased some solar guard film which blocks 96% of the radiant heat. This will be essential - just wasn't ready to include in the film.
@@fergusonrail Ok. Have you heard of the Mr. Cool DIY systems. They have mini splits that heat and cool. The units come pre charged with coolant all you have to do is installation and wiring. The inside unit just plugs to a wall outlet I think, but the outside unit needs wiring for the electrical. That might be a good option for the layout room or something similar. I'm planning on using one for my building that I have built for my layout. The film for the windows sounds like a good idea to use. Looking forward to the next video. 👍
Looking forward to watching, I'm about to start a similar sized layout. 6.0 x 3.0 in a Room i have constructed under the mezzanine in my shed. I'm planning on running a 2 level layout around a U Shape with Helix. Your design with the Fiddle yard and Helix in the center has got me thinking about doing similar and running around the perimeter. Keen to watch this take shape. Been torn between HO & N as I have a collection of each. But with the sudden increase of Aussie N Gauge products available, i think its sealed the deal for me to maximize the space. Do you plan to use DCC++EX for you layout? I'm thinking this is the way forward.
Hi Kyle, sounds exciting! Our first running goal is a full mainline loop using DCC++EX (probably some months off). If this needs industrialising we'll consider investing in a proprietary format with hardware controllers, but it would be nice to save a few dollars and stick with ++ if possible.
Looking forward to seeing the progress 😊
Really nice work !
Lol. “Love the smell of fresh glue.” This is awesome! Very excited to see this develop into a great layout room. Well done!
Thanks so much! 😊
excited to watch this come together!
Thanks mate, hopefully a lot more quickly than the other layout that was supposed to be finished about 10 years ago haha
@@fergusonrail yeah, I had wondered about that one.
Love those lights!!
Thanks! I could have gone even higher wattage, then use the dimmers to back it off. But the current lighting is sufficient and cost less!
