I will never forget this moment. My dad and I watch f1 since the Jos Verstappen days and we were mostly disappointed during that time because Jos never had a good car. Only during the Benetton years. After Jos left f1 we werent interested anymore. Then a couple of years later my father mentioned that his son was doing very well in the lower race classes. He decided to follow him and kept me updated on Max's progress. All the time he mentioned him my dad become more enthousiastic and predicted that he could become a new world champion. I was sceptic at first but later on I changed my mind very rapidly when he had his first test rides in f1. He was still very young but he was picking up everything so fast I couldnt believe my eyes. The rest is history including his maiden win. Sadly my dad died unexpectedly a few years ago but this moment we shared, in tears of joy, together and will be forever cherished ❤. Thank you Max en Jos🔥
Btw I won 400 euro s with a 10 euro bet on Max that he would win this race 😂

the birth of a legend, a hero! All long ago Michael Schumacher, they are the true legends of Formula One
and his two championship titles thanks to Checo and the maFIA
it's true that Checo helped him, but Hamilton's son wants to win over the years to become a 7-time world champion, Verstappen didn't help his son, he helped Hamilton all year long, just look at 2021 and the year properly and let's mention Bottas too 😉
Hamilton knows everything in this video
It was nice that some how he was able to get, I think, 0.8 seconds coming out of the last corner which was just enough to still have 0.1 or 0.2 seconds at the end of the straight and from there was able to extent that again to 0.8 seconds at the end of the lap and keep that up for 20 laps or so, keeping Raikonnen behind.
If I remember correctly you could see him look in his mirrors every time at that last corner to check where Raikonnen was and if he was at the same location as the previous lap he knew he was OK again for another lap.
No overdriving, no mistakes, just a perfect exit of the last corner every time, which was enough for the win.
"Einaudi: Experience" soundtrack and F1 together are pure magic. It gives me goosebumps every single time.

It was on this day where Max kept a 4 time world champion behind him and won the race in his first race for RB it was clear. This boy would become a legend in F1 and today with a 45th win and an 8th in a row he even though still young is one of the greatest drivers F1 has ever seen and he is easily up there with the other legends in this sport. Max Verstappen, you are the world champion!
Technically he did keep Vettel behind him but he was in a battle with Kimi for the win.
Vettel was in a battle with Ricciardo for P3.
The way you phrased that is as if Vettel was up Max's gearbox but it was Kimi.
That's still a 1 time Champion though.
That transition from the on-track action with Seb and Max to the pit wall screen is BEAUTIFUL 🤩

A win by default because the 2 quick cars crashed is hardly the greatest sporting moment.
@@brentmeistergeneral1054 It is when there is a great deal of national pride involved.
@@user-pc5qj2ix2c I understand that the Dutch have never had a winning driver in F1 before so it is a big thing for them. But for the rest of the world this was nothing out of the ordinary. The 2 quick cars crashed meaning it was bound to be one of the red bulls or one of the Ferraris that took the win. Max took that one while Danny Ric or Seb took others in similar circumstances.
@@brentmeistergeneral1054 Well. It's one of their favorite sport moments isn't it? For me it's football even if we never won the world cup. Still my favorite moments. Purely subjective.

The much more funny thing is, this was the first time ever he was driving this Red Bull.
I remember I told a friend of mine who doesn't care about F1 that Max was driving a faster car now, he's in a much better team now and he got a good teammate that can teach him a thing or two, once he's used to the car he'll be one of the best! He said yea, whatever, all the cars are the same, nothing will change, he will still be in the backfield, he's just a kid.
