    I knew very little about pier fishing going into this video but after watching Sasha for roughly 9:00 minutes I advanced from student to master. As a newly coronated master baiter I know the importance of testing tackles and Sasha is welcome to help herself to my test tackles at any time.

    Yall were fishing very close to where I live, I live in Pensacola Florida and on Pensacola Beach we have a great fishing pier I don't think it is as long as the one yall were at. I wish I had known yall were down I would have drove over to meet you if you. That would have made my day as I love your videos. Next time you are on a pier trying to catch bait try using a Sabik (spelling error) rig which is a bunch of gold hooks tied on a single line with a weight on the bottom, no bait you drop it down by the pilings and you can load up on pin fish. Thanks for sharing, usually I like taking a live pin fish hooked behind the dorsal fin on a fish finder rig sometimes called a Carolina Rig cast it out and give the bait some slack to swim, with this rig you can catch several different kinds of fish. Another way is hook the bait with a wire leader and no wait and cast it out and let it swim this will work great for King Mackerel.

    Well damn......been fishing of that pier almost all my life....and I'm 65. Wish I had known y'all were down there, would have come met y'all. Well Sasha anyway....lol I did say I was 65 not dead!
    You can catch reds and black drum.... pompano and blues.....whiting and sheepshead off the pier and beach...all pretty tasty table fair 402.
    Good luck on the rest of your trip down to the emerald coast. BTW I do live only about 25 mile north of there right on the river.....right out my front door, come on up and do some river fishing!

    Great video. Ironically it is not expected to be much cooler tomorrow here in the 402 compared to where your fishing location is (Western FL panhandle). The gulls you were feeding are Ring-billed Gulls which are still quite prevalent here in the Omaha area currently. Your little orange-footed bait thieves are Ruddy Turnstones. Though uncommon, I have observed them occasionally in the 402 during migration especially around larger lakes, and on one occasion the flooded grass pads along Hwy 92. They breed in the Tundra regions of Canada and winter on Gulf and Atlantic Coast.

    Great video man. Just a thing I learned in South Carolina, I use fish bites (I cut them in thirds), place it on the hook and then tip it with a piece of shrimp. The "real" bait draws them in and the fish bites stay on line so well that they pretty much keep attacking it! I've caught Pompano, red and black drum, whiting, bluefish and of course more pinfish than anyone would ever want to catch! Enjoy and again, great video!

    @williambenner5550 2 роки тому +3

    Now you are into my territory! I have done a lot of both pier and shark fishing. I have fished a lot in Florida waters, so I can give you some pointers. First off, bluefish are not bad IF you bleed them well. Very fun to catch big ones for sure 2ed point, down at the end of the pier is where you going to get your King Mackerel, however they are hard to catch, and you should use ONLY live bait for them. They are very picky fish. IF you decide to go shark fishing, use at least a 50 lb leader, or (what I use) a steel leader up to 100 lb. The leader should also be fairly long, some people use about 6 feet, but this is hard to cast of course. Expect the shark peel of a lot of line. There are a lot of more tips I could give you, but the most important one is don't get bitten!😂
    P.S. the guy on the pier most likely hooked a ray. This is what it was acting like anyway. Have fun in Florida!

    Are you guys on the East Coast or the West Coast of Florida. It looks like the West Coast. I used to fish there all the time in the Gulf and I got a lot of grunts and that's what you had that was making a noise it was a grunt. I like watching you guys fish. I live in Tennessee now if you ever want to come up and go fishing in Dale hollow I live in Celina Tennessee which is 5 miles south of Kentucky between Knoxville and Nashville on a lovely lake called Dale hollow lake .... Let me know if you want to come fishing here

    What pier were you on. I did 60 few years ago. All small stuff...of course the Sash is the 💣!! Them little fish normally attract pelican's n other fish eating birds.
