A good overview of the choices. Does the hybrid have a cvt gearbox like so many others of this type ?

In New Zealand and Australia the Kia Niro EV is in direct competition with the BYD Atto 3. The BYD is winning the sales race as it is NZ$10,000 cheaper and it only takes 6 weeks from ordering to receiving the car.
When discussing the different powertrains, at 6:10mins in to the video, does that EV sitting on the drive have a leak?

Excellent review , have just ordered EV trim level four. Only downside is three month wait.

Another great review Richard, this looks as close as you'll get to the 'Goldilocks' car. Not just in size, value and space but the options available to power it. If I had one minor comment is that the head restraints look like they take the design influence from a plumber looking like fallen over toilet bowl but you could say that's added amusement for school aged passengers to joke about.

@@carbuyer I'm not even on about the waiting list mines been in the garage for 2 months needs a new battery pack.
I have been to look at a Niro but came away disappointed with the interior. Especially Kia's inclusion of PET (recycled) plastic in its interior. Hyundai Kia web pdf rooflining 56% pet. Pet or polyethylene terephthalate is ( in my opinion) not healthy. Don't take my word for it, Google it, please do before deciding. " is pet bad for health". Pet is among other things composed of type 1 plastic which isn't supposed to be recycled and yet is! Not all cars use this ( cheap?) Material. I personally would avoid any car thats descrbes it interior as " Vegan") I emailed Mazda and their CX 30 and 60 are free of it and my next car will be one or the other.

Are you honestly claiming that potential buyers of a Kia Niro are also considering a Renault Captur, Ford Puma or a Toyota Yaris Cross...?
The Niro PHEV is a full £3,500 more expensive than the Captur PHEV. 😮
Similarly, the Niro Hybrid is over £4,300 more expensive than the Ford Puma mHEV and nearly a whole £5,000 more expensive than the Yaris Cross...!! 😳
There's absolutely no way these 3 other cars could be reasonably considered as 'competitors' to the Niro. 🤣
👋 I did exactly that and ended up going for the Niro over the Yaris Cross, upgrading from a Yaris hatchback.
