I am teaching patho to nursing students this year for the first time and I want to do whatever I can to help the students be successful while ensuring they learn concepts that will help them as they move forward in the program. Hey Caroline, I found your channel last year when I was taking A&P 2, Microbiology, Statistics and Chemistry all in the same semester and I listened to your audio files about staying positive and motivated almost daily..and guess what? I aced through every single course! I currently transferred to a University that offers the nursing program I want to get into and Pathophysiology is one of the pre requests which I am taking this semester. It has proven to be extremely difficult for me to the point where I am always anxious and on the verge of a nervous breakdown and it is very hard for me to stay focused and not so discouraged. +TresChic Hi love! It is great to hear from you! Honestly, patho kicked my but too... it was the first "nursing" course I took & I could not believe how hard it was!! Because you are now being tested on "real life" scenarios and not just the regurgitation of material... Super hard, since you have not experienced the real world! The NCLEX questions are going to be key... I think the book will help you a lot :) As well as trying to find videos to help explain the process. In order to combat your anxiety... write down a list of actionable things to do when you are feeling lost. This could be: Find a video on youtube and watch it, review NCLEX questions on this disease process, making an appointment with your professor to get more information or ask that super smart student in your class to explain something to you. Also, after each exam... schedule an appointment with your professor to go over your exam (even if you did really well)! Use your anxiety (which is energy) to help you accomplish your goals... for example: Normal anxiety - visualizing yourself failing an exam Change it too: seeing yourself in your cap & gown while your parents are smiling at you with a proud look on their face. Yes that is the package, just make sure it comes with the DVD's :) Although, I have to admit, that when I went to nursing school there was not so many free online resources available on UA-cam. The program is fantastic though & I believe it comes with a NCLEX review book (if I remember correctly)... so it is up to you. But if you can afford it, the money will be well spent. Honestly, none of the medical terms are easy even for native english speakers because they are all derived from latin terms... so for the most part we have to commit things simply to memory. I love the effort you put into this video. It was very helpful and informative. I'm taking pathophysiology now and my professor puts clinical questions in more than half the exam. I'm having great difficulty when it comes to answering these types of questions. My next test is this Monday and I'm not sure how to prepare. please give me your advice and tips. Thank you so much

Hi! How do you remember all medical vocabularies in medical term? I'm looking forward to enroll in nursing program, but I'm fear of my language barrier. English is my second language. Any tips or advise for a person like me? And did you see anyone who is not American were doing fine or stuffing when you were in nursing school?

Honestly, none of the medical terms are easy even for native english speakers because they are all derived from latin terms... so for the most part we have to commit things simply to memory.
However, once you learn them, many of the terms favor each other.

I love the effort you put into this video. It was very helpful and informative. I'm taking pathophysiology now and my professor puts clinical questions in more than half the exam. I'm having great difficulty when it comes to answering these types of questions. My next test is this Monday and I'm not sure how to prepare. please give me your advice and tips. Thank you so much
