At my car the white plastic gear broke into two pieces. I opened up the module but it's nearly impossible to disassemble the white gear from the gearing inside the part without totally destroying everything, so I just bought a used one for 30 bucks from ebay. Should work fine :) Thanks for sharing the video!
@@thecarchak The used module broke two days after repair... I'll now try to fix it by grinding down the shaft that holds the plastic gear to remove it and 3d printing a new one.
I noticed that the motor doesn't stop when it starts and you open the door at the same time. It makes a full rotation and broke the 3d printed gear... It only stops after 1.5 rotations (too much) or when the door is closed. So never open the door when softclose is working. It may break the gear.
My drivers door stopped working earlier this year. I believe it is the motor/module because I don't hear it engage. However I can't found a part number for it anywhere.
Hey friend, thanks for the video. I believe the module is working except that the cable has either broke or come out of the module. My father was closing the door one time and while I was doing The soft clothes he open the door again. After that point it did not work so it leads me to believe that it could be the cable because I can still hear the module working. That being said how hard is it to replace a broken cable? If that’s what it is? Also, is it possible it just came out?
You'll have to open it up and take a look but the cable replacement should be extremely easy and straightforward. I've noticed on mine, the cable does indeed stretch slightly and that will prevent the soft close feature from shutting the door properly. Please let me know how you make out, I'm curious!
Hey I have a 06 a8l the cables are good and is seems the modules are good. But the doors are still not soft closing are there any adjustments oe anything else that could be wrong that you could think of
It did it 1x and after that, that was it the back doors work. When I hook up the front doors they power up and do the initial set up but when I click the doors I get nothing at all.
You shouldnt have to click the button for the soft close to work. close the door gently and if it's not latch, the door will self latch. The buttons on the handles are to lock the door. the sensors on the inside of the door handles will unlock the car when you're near.
@@thecarchaknah I mean by click is I let the door close til the first click but it doesn't pull closed. Do you know if there 2 sensors 1 for the car and 1 strictly for the soft close actuators?
I bet you it’s embedded near the steering column. Once you peeled back the drive side knee dash, you should see a few modules tucked away behind it. What’s wrong with your sunroof?
I spoke to the dealership today i have to lie them told them im calling from a shop 😂 and the modul is located in the back seat/trunk where the fuses and relays are.

I don’t remember off the top of my head but I’ll look it up for you. Do you need the right or left side?
@@thecarchak both of them. ^^

Is it atleast trying to pull the doors close?

Hi
By the chance do you know where the sunroof control module is located?
