I am considering redoing the model slightly. To add more animated subparts on the inside so from an interior view it doesnt seem too dull. Something animated while also creating some beams. I generally dont like that much detailing even tho it can make it look nicer. The thing is that detailing takes alot longer then creating and modelling the basics with functions.
I recon drilling rings bits should extend further. Now they magically disapper stuff, no sparks no illusion. Beams I get, its scifi, aint gotta explain :D But rings look like they should be grinding yet they are not even close to rocks..
@@wilppuse Extending it would mean that the block would be large and then the blocks would touch the walls. I was considering emitting beam lasers from the small orange ports on the rings but that would be too many blender emitters wich could get laggy. Frontal particles are easy its on one spot but to do it on a moving ring is something else entirely. The second thing i could do is scale the rings slightly larger like 6x6 and 8x8 where the rings themselfs would nearly be touching. But then the designer of the miner have to make sure that he build inwards and down between each ring so no other block is at the same height as the ring itself. But this again is even applied to vanilla drills. When you carve/tunnel the drills arent touching the voxels. So you have to choose a middle area where they will function and not be hazzle for the user to use.
@@raidfire85 Thx for reply. How about just adding stationary vanilla drill spark effects on ring segments? From what I see there is like 16 zones, so they would function like 16 drill bits, just facing outwards, effect-wise?. Ie ring spins, sparks are all around, but tied to those segmets. English not my first lang etc.. :D

@@raidfire85 WHOA! That looks darn cool!
This looks amazing! Can't wait to use this! Looking forward to future mods :)
Looking forward to these. Very interesting drill idea. Keep up the awesome Mods!
This is a totally stellar idea i love it
Reminds me of Vergil from The Core :)
Excited for the launch of these!!!
That' going to be amazing for surface mining as well.
This is a way better video, bro!
