Thanks for showing the whole process for opening. Like you had mentioned, it is very frustrating and annoying to watch videos that talk about the process, then avoid showing the process of opening the back!

I can confirm that the Swift 1 31 (with 1.05 firmware) does work with a 1TB SSD, in my case a Samsung 860 EVO. I used a slim guitar pick (0.65mm thick) to open the case, which worked well. A word of warning: the aluminum bottom cover has razor sharp edges.
Firmware has now been updated to 1.12, and still works nicely.

just wanted to say that you saved me tons of cash. i kept getting BSOD for months on my laptop that was otherwise working perfectly fine and i loved it...and after about 3 months of this i finally took the leap to do a fresh install of windows but eventually had to admit that i needed a new SSD... thank goodness i came across your video! the whole process and fix only cost me 60 CAD . (i'm in poland so I guess it's cheaper). Anyway, thanks for teaching us non-techy DIY'ers how to do it ourselves!

When I bought this laptop a couple years ago I had read about some models being able to accept an m.2 sata ssd, but I never got around to opening mine up. Turns out I have to same model as you, so after watching your video I opened mine up yesterday and popped in a new 256gb drive. I barely used the laptop anymore because it was always so troublesome trying to clean up windows so it didn't completely eat up the 64gb emmc. It's like new again! Thanks so much. One comment -- multiple lengths of ssds will work, there are multiple screw holes to keep them down. I also tried a shorter 42mm 16gb one from an old chromebook and it installed fine.

Thanks for the video. I will add what I found which is that *these laptops do not support PCIe nvme drives, it has to be a SATA interface* I made that mistake and didn't know there are different kinds of 2280 M.2s
I have the SF14-32-P2Pk which is a slightly different model and the M.2 slot is in the upper left not under a tab or anything.

Sergio Vittorio yes the one listed is compatible. But before you buy, check your laptop to see if slot is available. You can open it, the way I showed in video. You won't damage it. Just be careful and use plastic stick to open no metal tools. See my video to ubderstand how to open the back side. The black slot to the left of the ribbon cable should have a slot for ssd . If your model has slot. You can buy and upgrade to ssd

Joshua Shigeru Yokogawa Bautista hi. It works great. No you dont have to clone if you dont want to. But I wanted to have more space in C drive cuz it's for my folks and i dint want them to change directory of any software installs or not have enough space in temp folder when unzipping or updating or for any software that uses Cdrive temp folder. So it makes sense to migrate OS to a larger hdd
