I did this in the royal navy. On both minesweepers and hunters, in my youth great guys. Also undertook mine clearance diving.

Attached to MCM10 1983 till 1992. Clyde division Ton sweepers initially then the Msfs Edats. Hats off to anyone who does this job. As they say your only a minesweeper once. All mechanical and influence sweeeping. Hard graft but loved it.

I was a marine engineer and diver at the former sussex division RNR between 1979 to 1993. Served on both coniston class mine sweepers and hunters. And after 1986 served on msf River class minesweepers. And was on th RN trials crew based in lowestoft for this class.
They were all good crews and shipmates, great runs ashore from scotland to gibraltar.

I’m an admin type, 5 years in as of 2021, I literally had a 14 year time in service MN2 walk up to me and ask “what state did I do done lived in ‘fore I joined???”
I literally looked at this man as he was drooling asking me this, I went to Fleet and Family to register for TAPS and started my separation that day…
