Nice video. You're making more money than probably 95% of people with the same experience level. Gotta be a real road warrior to team. I could see you owning a truck in a year or so. Good luck!
Thank you for taking the time to watch my video as well as leaving a comment. Team driving takes a lot of patience but if one is willing so Sacrifice for a short period of time. It allows you to earn great money and open up opportunities.
Thank you starting
GREAT INFO THANKS LOOKING TO START SOON...Also how did you get your video monetized so fast
Thanks for checking out the video as well as leaving a comment. I am not really sure that I understand the question. Simply because I am not monetize. That would be awesome if I was.
Thanks for this video bro…I will be starting soon I’m fresh out of school.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed it
@@RelentlessEnterprizequestion,do they do hair follicle test at covenant
You should show the paystubs of you driving for mileage pay
I am thinking to work for them as a team but i read some reviews that they don't get so many load , slow , no miles
Thank you for the information on teams OTR !! Especially about the Smoker ! I don't see why Covenant, doesn't have a non-smoking policy in there Truck's! I can imagine how that would stink up a small area like a truck 🚛, 🚭 🚭 😖
I think they want to appeal to the masses since a-lot of Truckers smoke. I don’t think it’s horrible, I don’t smoke so I just prefer nonsmoker Co-driver. But if both Drivers smoke than its not really an issue at all.
Can you request a non smoking trainer or team mate?
I start at the end of July can’t wait! I’m not really tripping on the pay I’m just trying to gain some experience so I can get a better job tbh. I always viewed this as a “stepping stone” company. And I’m ready for it🔥
It’s not a bad company, I always recommend getting your endorsements so that you don’t leave any money on the table while your getting your experience. Good luck on your journey 🤙🏾.
@@RelentlessEnterprize I have doubles/triples & tanker. I’m going to go for the hazmat in a few weeks . I’m still in the practicing phase of that on the test app
So they hire folks straight out of school? I'm asking because I jus got my CDL in August but most companies asking for experience.
@@ManIAm91 Yes they do.
I have one question, I recently Graduated from CDL school Oct but I’m under 21 right, it’s so hard to find a job locally, so I can’t find job, I have one of my cousin been at Covenant wanting me to team up with him in May because that’s when I’ll be 21, if I let my CDL stay for that long, would they still take me there or should I worry more about getting experience
I’d recommend get the experience elsewhere while you wait until May, it will help you continue to sharpen your skills plus you wouldn’t have to go out for the 4 weeks of Training with a trainer you can just go with your cousin once you complete Orientation. At the end of the day your personal situation dictates.
@@RelentlessEnterprize thank you! 👊🏾
Great video👍thx,,,, student payment is very low for a CDL holder, but it is what it is.
Hey, thanks for watching and I agree student pay is pretty crappy. I found that most companies student pay it’s not the best these companies try to find ways to pass less.
Are you still in covenant dude ?
I wonder how they match students together.
I stayed 30 days in 2019. Teamed me with a guy from Arizona, I'm from Virginia. Ask me how the hometime went.
Yeah, that would have been a nightmare 😂
@@RelentlessEnterprize Too make it worse put us in Pomona California terminal running Fedex to Texas, he got to stop in Arizona to go home once a week.
That's why I'm glad they offer solo jobs in va
Thank you for such a informative video. Coming to covenant with no experience. Do they make you take a backing test during the 3 day orientation or do you complete a backing test after training?
Hi Radajia, thanks for taking the time to watch the video. During orientation we only completed a road test. Once you complete training than you will be doing another road test and backing test.
Did u start with yet
Can I team up w a random girl instead of a guy?
If the random girl wants to partner with you I don’t see why not.
What type of tests you do for the backing portion is the just both the L and Straight back only or they add those 2 with switching lanes?
Alley dock & road test is the only things that we did. It’s actually pretty easy. I don’t know of anybody that failed their onboarding test
So you said they reimbursed you? Does that mean you have to pay out of pocket first?
Yeah, any company with a reimbursement program is like that. Only way to not go that route is a company that has an in house cdl school
@Monkmoto1887 100% correct, thats for sharing that.
He's talking about they reimbursed him for CDL school.
@@RelentlessEnterprize I paid $2500 cash for my CDL schooling. Will they reimburse me for that or they only reimburse students that go to their CDL training?
Why was your net pay going down
For those who had to wait for their trainer…did they have to go back home or did covenant let them house in their facility while they waited.. I’m tryna figure out if I should end my lease before my training or keep it to have somethn to come back to during delays like the one u mentioned
Orientation apr 17 and will also do videos like yours
James, they have Rooms that you will be able to stay and while you are waiting for your trainer. If not they will get you a hotel in the area. Good luck with your training. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@jamesc4861 do you have a channel. Thanks
Can u do a video on the process of getting hazmat I’ve study for it but don’t know the process
Yes, I’m working on that. Should be up and running soon.
Put the CDL Prep app on your phone.
Very informative video do you know if there's an age limit
There is No age limit that I am aware of. Great question
Did u have to test before training
Do you have to do backing in orientation?
Yes
Wait. Did I read 2215 miles for 871
Thanks for sharing, next pay video should be coming soon
I’ll do a video focused just on that. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your comment.
Why did they take so much, and I thgt it was a set pay while training I didn’t know they tax ya on it
Great question, I believe they have no control over the Taxes since that’s an IRS thing. But the amount that’s taken out depends entirely on your individual tax rate and your state requirements.
Do they pay for all miles?
Mileage is split, Cents per mile is not split. 6,000 miles would be 3K miles each driver, times your cents per mile.
If not on an account will u still get miles
To my knowledge yes, Because majority of Covenants loads are none Estes loads. I personally just believe if you want to maximize your earnings potential with Covenant, you should be on Estes pulling doubles.
If not on Estes or wildcat accounts do they still give u the miles
I’m actually gonna be doing a video soon with one of my friends that I met through orientation he’s on the normal account the last I spoke to him he told me that it’s kind of on and off for the most part they were getting good miles over 5000 a week. I hope that answers your question.
Yes it did thanks.I’m just noticing a lot of negative videos about covenant
They told me when I get there that I can take my hazmat test I already got my tanker endorsement CANT wait Sunday
All of this sound ridiculous we already passed our backing maneuvers during school, why do we go out with a trainer then come back to get tested and what happens if you fail the backing maneuvers? What disqualifies you? Because in the real world you can get out and look as much as possible, you can pull up as much as possible so why is this test even needed??
So the recruiter lied about the 0.75 for starting military pay
I cannot confirm or deny what the recruiter said because I don’t know what kind of conversation that you two had but what I do know is that if you are a veteran specially one with military truck driving experience at Covenant, you should be at $.80 per mile.
Do they take no recent experience
I’m in Florida going to team with a Bro… he has a CDL, I don’t even have a permit and still kicking weed.
In the meantime I’m studying for the test and getting the money for my DT .. Covenant I’ve read on their website and read past truckers couple and people reviews, They will even train you if you have no experience and pay for your CDL and they take like 50 out of every check till it’s paid off and of course you can offer more money to expedite that process and take your CDL to a local company.
Either way.. YES THEY DO. My bro has been out for a year, me teaming with him gets him in easy but he could’ve went solo and they would give him a random team driver
Are u still with them
So how do you get your endorsements
I’ll probably do a video on this topic. But to answer your question. I recommend searching on UA-cam Hazmat/ Tankers/ Doubles and Triples Endorsements test preparation videos. They do a great job at covering the topics. After that just set up an appointment with your local Motor Vehicle Division. I believe Hazmat requires background check. But double check me on that. Good luck.
@@RelentlessEnterprizeso this company requires you to have endorsement and hazmat
Will they help u get your hazmat ?
Yes, they have all the training materials available to you and they encourage you heavily on getting your Hazmat. I also recommend getting your Hazmat & Doubles endorsement.
bullzhit ya gotta be a yes man to work az a truck driver .
You gotta be a yes man to work in any industry.
The road test in Chattanooga is hard?
No, it is actually pretty easy.
Where is orientation at?
Chattanooga, TN
Work for covenant now on dollar general account big mistake
Sorry to hear that, I have never heard of any Dollar General accounts being good with any carrier. In my opinion, the best deck of an office is either Estes account or ATT account.
If my Hometown is in Nevada, Utah or Michigan !?!
My hometown is Phoenix, AZ. It doesn’t matter to Covenant where you live. But it is important to find a Co-Driver that is also from your state, it makes Coordinating hometown super easy.
@@RelentlessEnterprize Appreciate it !!👍
yeah im going here for a first company, it's decided
Good luck, keep me posted.
Hey so they only hire for teams? Are you required to have experience? I just got my CDL 8/24. Also how far back do they check on the MVR??@@RelentlessEnterprize
Covenant is complete bullshit; when I trained with them they made me work 70hrs a week and paid me $700, so only $10hr! And it doesn’t get much better when you finish training. They said they would pay for a rental car and never did and I’ve had class action settlements against them because they fuck over their drivers
How come he didn't respond to this
Hi Jack! Assuming your UA-cam channel name is your actual name, no one by your name has ever been employed by Covenant Transport.
@@cyranus10 It says Jshir-James Shirley; I worked for CT in 2019
What kind of drug test urine or hair test?
Urine test
Now they do a hair test
@@RedRedred-ld4pb how did you find out?
@@RelentlessEnterprizeso you did your dot physical during orientation not before you went?
@@gamerjanay it was a pre-employment urine test. I already completed my DOT test prior to coming to Covenant.
Urine drug test?
Yes
I should be going into covenant soon, please put out more content about pay stubs and proof that your making this.
This encourages me and my to take this sacrifice for the fam.
They don’t watch you pee idk why you being weird telling people that they do
Again, I can only speak for my personal experience. I definitely had the urinalysis observer 2 feet away from me ensuring I follow their protocol.
If that doesn’t constitute being watched than our definitions are night and day different.
At the same time, it is fair to say that your experience was different from mine, but when I am answering someone’s question, I can only give honest answers from my experience. I don’t gain or lose anything from sharing how Covenant conducts their drug test based on my experience.
Are you wearing flip flops??
I believe I was.
I hear flip flops. Real truckers DONT WEAR FLIP FLOPS !
Fair enough Tony, however, I’m not claiming to be a trucker. I’m also a team driver and I was just done with my shift so I decided to relax.
I do 😂😂😂
We do.
