How is this not more popular? one of my favorite albums this year...
As composer Benny Green once said in a tribute to Sarah Vaughan in 1980,
“How does one measure an artist’s success? By how much audience they attract? By how much money they make? By how many records they sell? Or by how deeply they move a sophisticated or cultured audience? Or by how enduringly their art will survive?
“Sarah [Vaughan] has been called the musician’s singer-both a wonderful compliment and a delimiting stigmatization. What seems to be true for the moment is that her art, like Duke Ellington’s, is too subtle, too sophisticated to make it in the big-really big-mass pop market. God knows, Sarah-or her managers-have tried to break into that field. But she never can make it or will make it, like some mediocre punk rock star might, because she’s too good. She can’t resist being inventive; she can’t compromise her art; she must search for the new, the untried; she must take the risks.”
True. Let’s keep listening to it more.

From 12:36 the song gets super spiritual...like a prayer at the end of the first battle. Just fantastic and beautiful!
This is absolutely beautiful !!!

Essa música é tipo uma pintura sobre como é o ato de viver, só q de forma sonora. Incrível. O proximo passo as vezes é facil, as vezes é tão dificil que parece ser a própria morte. Incrivel.
really tells a story
beautiful
There is something about this music that seems almost self aware. Its like its telling me something. I'm captivated.
agora nós sabemos o que acontece quando alguém toca juntando seu talento ao seu coração, uma obra prima né.
