Good stuff as always Jason. I live in the second flattest state in the US and Summit fever was running rampant here a couple years ago. I was pretty shocked when I walked into my local Doo shop and saw that every new sled on the showroom floor was 146” or longer. Two years later I am searching for a nice pre owned trail sled and stumble across a bunch of super low mileage Summits that were just a few years old and hundreds if not a thousand dollars less than a same vintage Renegade with more miles. 😳
You had a plan all along. Pick up a beautiful super low mileage Summit then mold and shape it into a great crossover sled that fits you 100%. Brilliant.
I agree. Around here a few years ago some bought the "new Freeride" and some "Summits" oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! BUT we here in Michigan are "flatlanders". I own a 1999 Mach z (with 240) and a 2002 mxz 700 sport (with an ice attack) . And I'm staying right I am. I like the design of these sleds and how you can get down behind the wind shield if need be. (I'm seriously considering going back to the stock rubber track on the '99. All the best to you Mr. Blier.
The fact of the matter is the snowmobile industry as a whole has been on the decline for awhile. The 90s were the hay days for me . Now the industry is all mountain it seems. Getting stuck every 20ft doesn't sound like fun for me.lol
Hi Mike! Long term, it has been on a decline. The last 2 years have seen major increases in sales and uptake of the sport - big question is if that will “stick” and the newcomers end up becoming life-long sledders. I’d like to do another video on my long term predictions of the market - but I think people find stuff about marketing and consumer dynamics pretty boring. :). Thanks for the comment!

I know - not sure what people are thinking sometimes - myself included! Lol
You found yourself a beauty sled for next year!
