  • This is a short clip (poorly edited together, whoops) from The Sarah Connor Chronicles where Sarah Connor learns about the September 11, 2001 attacks after time-traveling from 1999 to 2007. There's the slightest glimmer of interesting commentary here--depending on your world view, of course.
Some quick background on the scene. Sarah Connor is attempting to purchase fake IDs for herself, her son, and their new guardian Terminator. The guy she's dealing with is the nephew of a former underground associate of hers from a decade earlier.

Sarah: "..... I still don't have the foggiest what you all are prattling on about. What's this ... Plone business? Cars with wings you say.. driving through the heavens into structures taller than a churches spyre?! Blasphemous! Heresy!!"

Ok im a big terminator fan so to clear up why Sarah didn't know about 9-11 is because the year she and John came from before going to 2007 with Cameron was the year 1999 9-11 didn't happen untill 2001 they skiped over it

@P2020pudding1 because a terminator named Cameron helped John connor and Sarah Connor time travel to the future and she missed out on knowing about the world trade towers. This is sarah connor chronicles season 1

Well, it would have been worse if they didn't bother to namedrop it. The show is set in 2007, after all.

@johnnyinstereo And 9/11 wasn't really the same as an attack by a military force. It was 3men in our own country who got flying lessons here. The crazieness and unbelievability of that and the antrax made you think how a small person or group could inflict so much. I think that was more terrifying than a military.

If they'd showed the video then UA-cam would've demonitized this clip

In this timeline, the Terminators took out the inventors of UA-cam before they could solve streaming video, so all historical recaps must be acted out by ID salesmen.

What makes this scene very profound is that while Sarah is unfazed by jihadists crashing airplanes into buildings which is nothing compared to Judgement Day, what she doesn't understand is why human beings would do this to themselves. If we are this self destructive as a species then we might as well get wiped out by the machines.

How is this patriotic? 9-11 happened for real. Much like the kids fighting in T-2 this is an example of us destroying ourselves. This is one of the best scenes in the series.

you seem to be reacting as if I'd said that there was no evidence. I did not. I said I'd like to find someone who could provide some.
You have not done so....The search continues.
I give a shit, I simply percieve no way to figure out what's going on without years of study(since i'm not willing to delude myself into thinking that I understand something from one or two pieces of evidence like most people are), and at current can not afford that.

@Miracle490d The details for each event are so shrouded in mystery and go so deep, you can't say it was 3 men in our own country taking buildings down. I don't see how anyone can really believe the official story that was given to us. There are too many loose ends and weird coincidences to buy it, in my opinion. And I don't think we'll ever really know what really happened. But the thing both have in common is they got the wheels of the military war machine going.

ummm, wasn't it from 1999 that she jumped forward 8 years to 2007?
9/11 happened in 2001, so if she had jumped from 2004 she'd have seen it

  • @Miracle490d

@johnnyinstereo It makes a big difference if you're around for it or not. Pearl Harbor means very little unless you're an elderly person who can remember the day. I'm sure that there will be many young ppl who think of 9-11 as another footnote in history as old as the revolutionary or civil wars. It cuts in your heart deeper if you can remember hearing about all those deaths in your time near your home & realize you could've been a target as easily.&knowing ppl like ur suffering.nothing u can do

    who knows

  • @Miracle490d
    @Miracle490d 13 років тому

@P2020pudding1 Because they made a jump ahead in time (going from 2004 to 2007 I think) in the premier episode, so she skipped over all that and the terminator Cameron failed to tell her about it. That was an error. because every american in every state knew about 9/11. The fact she didn't know made her strange and they are not supposed to draw attention to themselves.

Yeah, I remember. I live exactly 1 mile away, so did my girlfriend. I still have that white dust on my face mask that I wore to keep from breathing it in. I had to smell that burning-plastic-straw smell for a month.
And you know what? We joked at the time, and we joked weeks and months and years later, and we joke now. Why? Because it kept us going when we were depressed and horrified. And now it helps us keep perspective. So thanks for telling me our therapy and coping techniques are wrong.

@johnnyinstereo I agree about the war machine and I'm sure we don't get every detail. Shady is right, but our government is so loose with illegal or even legal imigrants allowed in without showing any loyalty or commitment. And is there even any regulation now to determine if someone should be allowed air lessons or anything similar? We regulate drinking and smoking yet that went unchecked!!! In my opinion it just states how sorry things are.

Meh, a better scene is when John and the Terminator are watching those kids play guns in T2, and he says, "We're not gonna make it, are we? People, I mean."

OMG dude, 9/11 isn't forbidden. I saw the shit happen out a window exactly 1 mile away and lived thru that smell for months after, and I laugh at jokes about it, even made some.
My problem is the 2 guys get all goofy-looking when they try to explain it to her, making the scene unbearably stupid looking. Whether it's a desecration of the memories of the victims or not is totally irrelevant. The show is action and drama, and these guys just look like pro wrestlers.

whether or not america worked perfectly in practice, it was founded on certain good ideals and more or less pioneered the gradual movement of the world towards freedom. For it's corrupt era it was spectacular, and people like Thomas Jefferson are brilliant by todays standards.
