- We connected an accelerometer to the pitch CV input on the new GS Apollo synthesizer and this is what we got.
The accelerometer module was slightly modified. Some filters were added in order to achieve a better response.
No modulation wheel or aftertouch was used.

How did you wire the accelerometer? I want to do this but can't see how you set it up
nice idea - how are you powering the sensor and how did you set filtering for the motion?

Good question. The synth has a TRS (stereo) jack connector for the CV inputs, where the ring is connected to +5V through a 1k resistor. This allows powering some low power devices such as this accelerometer while it is still compatible with the regular TS connectors used for eurorack modules. When using a TS connector the resistor is shorted and has no effect. For the filtering I used a low pass filteraround 500Hz to filter fast movements and then a high pass filter to cancel the offset and very slow movements. I think the high pass filter was around 5 or 10 Hz.
@@GSMusicArg nice, thanks for the info - I thought all CV was just TS connectors since all the cables are TS (mono), so I couldn't just have +5V from the ring of a TRS (stereo) jack connector unless they had the same setup - I wonder that other synths have that setup?
Is this Aftertouch?
No, it's an accelerometer connected to the pitch CV input. It detects the hand movements and turn them into a voltage.
Any news on the Zeus?
No news. We are focusing on our new monophonic synth before resuming the work on Zeus.
