    A few words from synth_nyc:
    After designing some custom patches for Black Corporation Japan and GForce Software Ltd, I chose to design patches for the e7 because:
    1. It sounds great to my ears and offer a complementary tone to all my hardware and software synth
    2. It has memory
    3. It has full MIDI implementation of all parameters, so I can remote edit it.
    In addition; the e7 has some unique features, as far as I can tell, which really make it shine:
    * Stereo output / voice spread with pan modulation
    * 3 LFOs that can modulate pitch, PW, VCF and VCA
    * Very cleverly / musically implemented features such as A/R velocity modulation, envelop KB tracking modulation, LFO rate KB tracking modulation, etc...
    Not to say that the discrete VCO, VCF and VCA are a winning combo for a true analog tone.
    Please contact GS Music if you need support.
    Enjoy!
    Mini-bio
    synth_nyc first synth was a DX7 (mk1) in the mid-80s. synth_nyc always enjoyed programming sounds on the machine and it never appeared complex or non-intuitive to him. synth_nyc first analog synth was a MKS-50 (with PG-300) where he discovered that you did not need to spend 4 hours to design a great patch! After that, synth_nyc is grateful to have own classic and unique machines from the late 70s to early 90s like a CS-80, a Waldorf Wave, a PPG Wave 2.3, a MemoryMoog LAMM, Prophet 5 Rev2, Rev 3.3 and Prophet VS, OSCar, OB-X, Synthex, Sunsyn, Jupiter-8, Chroma, Hartmann Neuron and Voyetra Eight (the only vintage synth_nyc still owns) and many more! synth_nyc has learnt and enjoyed programming them all. Today synth_nyc is focussing his time on programming analogue renaissance hardware synths -with memories-; as well as new hybrids and new digitals, but also software synths as emulations, virtual modeling have come a long way; especially in the past year or 2 (so have computers) and are letting us enjoy amazing machines for a reasonable price, so close (or better) to the originals and hassle free.

    This sounds incredible. After owning and regrettably selling all my synths: OBXa, Jupiter 6, sequential pro 1 and a Yamaha CS60. This is really very comforting. I thought about getting the OB8x but this is a game changer. I think I may pair this with the TEO-5. Maybe add a DX7 or D50. To cover the vintage itch.

    Forever Pad sounds exactly as it’s supposed to sound! Love the warm sounds I’m hearing…I think this will make a great contrasting companion to a Modor NF-1. Thanks for the great sounding patches.

    Beautiful patches. This is my next synth. Can't wait to pair with an Osmose for MPE.

    Late to the party - This synth sounds amazing! Going to have to sell a few things and put my pennies in the jar, but I got my eyes on this baby!

    Sequential got the ball rolling on polyphonic synths but were unable to produce modern instruments that had vintage characteristics. Hats off to GS - and that’s from an Englishman. Kudos guys, this sounds fantastic.

      Hats off to GS: yes, definitely.
      Sequential unable …: not really.
      I have a P6 and an OB6, both in the same league as the E7, albeit more expensive.
      I‘m here because I‘m drooling for a *ladder filter* poly synth and the T6 indeed disappointed me.

      Well the Prophet 5 Rev 4 could be considered a poly synth with vintage characteristics, it is a kind of reissue, yes, but it has improvements the old ones didn’t, and that thing really sounds amazing. The oB-6 also sounds vintage enough I think with proper programming. E7 on the other hand is a fantastic synth for a very good price. I think all of them sum up, more than one is always the best choice :)

    Nice pure sound! Is it possible to get rid of this noise? In pauses noise is very obvious.

      You don’t hear this noise in other demos out there showing this synth, it may be this specific demo.

    You must put phaser and flanger effects plus add analog distortion+ filter distortion.

    Love the sound, but in patches like 1.4, 6.6 and other I've heard a LOT of noise. So is this synth that noisy? Sorry, but it has no sense to have noise generator for 1800$ or something.

    • @RayyMusik
      @RayyMusik Рік тому

      There is some noise here and there, but no *disturbing* noise. I love 7.7, e.g., for its analog noise. Maybe you‘d be better of with a digital synth?

    • @Donetur
      @Donetur 9 місяців тому +1

      I think it may be this demo, other demos out there don’t sound that noisy

    Fantastic job by synth_nyc (and GS Music of course)!
    The pads, e.g. 5.4, made me melt away. 🫠

    How can they be patches if doesn't have patching cables like on the semi-modulars or modular?? These are programs because you're programming without the cables patching the oscillator s to the filter etc, etc!!

    • @itchyvinyl
      @itchyvinyl Рік тому +7

      “Programs” have been referred to as “patches” all throughout the 80s and 90s, years where there was no such thing as an affordable modular or semimodular synths being produced. Just leftover language from the early days of synthesis.

      @@itchyvinyl well Maybe it's because I'm in my 70s and I came from that Era when it came into being!! I still play those instruments and once I got my first synth way back in the day I was hooked!! And I know that like Myself there are others who love getting involved with these marvelous instruments!! And I can tell that your probably no different than Myself when you are playing or just listeng to them!! Why right now I'm looking for another synth as old as I am!! It will be my 13th addition to my rig!! I just can't stay away from them!! A funny thing is that every time I say that this is my last one, I find myself buying another one!! Anyway thanks for your message!!

      @@ge0rgeharris218 Lucky you getting your hands on those early synths. I’m creeping up in age as well. Lifelong drummer, and in the last 15 years added bass, guitar, and synths. I plan to take your lead and never stop being curious and creating. Cheers!

      Programs are just virtual, i.e. digitally controlled patches. Synth moduls still interact with each other on every modern synth. 🤷‍♂️
