I think you should have made its running controls the same as stride VR. you can walk in any direction with the left joystick, and turn with the right one. they made it so if you swing your hands when moving with the joystick you will run. these controls are pretty much perfect, they allow platforming at high speeds. I can't imagine these controls in Sonic Virtua, it could be so much better!

I bought a beast computer with rtx 3090. One of the first games i've installed is Sonic Virtua, playing this game with smooth 90 fps its such a joy
