I was 17 years old in Hollywood with my best friend and family and we were shopping for my 18 hole Docs (Dr Martin’s) and they were shooting this video and they asked if we wanted to be in it. I was so excited to be in this video and meet the band. They were totally cool. It was an awesome day for me. My first pair of 18 hole Docs and get to meet the band And be in a video. Still a great song 29 years later!!

Mick did the same with The Clash and Carbon/Silicon. The Clash's intro to Guns on the Roof is pretty much the same as Clash City Rockers which was inspired by The Who's I Can't Explain. Years later on Carbon/Silicon's What the Fuck!, Mick again uses the Clash City Rockers intro

He is sampling himself, so it's a win either way. Mick Jones was one of the first rock musicians to see the value in sampling and do it creatively. He was at ground zero for 2 music revolutions, his originally has never been in doubt.

    Break it on down
    Bless you
    Bless you
    Oh bless you
    Bless you
    Where are you going
    My beautiful friend
    Is this the road that
    We take til the end
    And if we break down
    Are we left behind
    Is this the highway
    Of all mankind
Axis spins so round and round we go
Where we're goin no one really knows
Here we here we here we here we go
Feel the fire way down below
Come on and dim the lights
    (It's party time)
    Switch on the strobe
    (Do what you like)
We gonna have a ball tonight
    (Let's have a ball)
    Down at the Globe
    Come on dim the lights
(Here we here we here we go again)
    Switch on the strobe
    (Lookin right?)
    Gonna have a ball tonight
    (All I see is?)
    Down at the Globe
Get up and clean your teeth and have a shave
    It's 1am let's go out to a rave
One more in before we hit that grave
It's hotter than a microwave wave
Come on and dim the lights
    (It's party time)
    Switch on the strobe
    (Do what you like)
We gonna have a ball tonight
    (Let's have a ball)
    Down at the Globe
    Where is the failure
    Not in this land
    But still you try to
    Get what you can
You know that it's bad but
    If you insist
    Here's one more chance now
    That you just missed
Come on and dim the lights
    (It's party time)
    Switch on the strobe
    (Do what you like)
We gonna have a ball tonight

These comments have my heart very happy. It's amazing to see all you 90s and 00s babies remembering BAD with fondness. My daughter approached me a few years ago because she was making a playlist to listen to while doing field research. She had most of the other bands she grew up with, but she couldn't remember the title of the "choo! Bless you" song. I'm fairly certain she added most of the Down At The Globe album to her list. It's interesting to hear about what our babies remember and what things remind them of their old Mommy.

Didn't know of BAD until the early 90's and was BLOWN AWAY! I'm from Chicago, Illinois. A friend brought the cd for the road trip we went on tripping on cid and boy that was a memorable day, Lmao! We must have played that album a boatload of times, BAD is definitely underated. I was organizing my pad and came across the cd box minus the cd, hopefully it's around somewhere. Either way we have UA-cam, YEYYYYY!!! Cranking BAD super loud cruising in the classic car I had at the time was mega epic!!! I had a 1971 Chevy Caprice with a stereo system / speakers to rival as if you were at the concert. Great times and beautiful memories. "Esta. Loca" epic line from a Chicago House music jam Classic, I was blown away they used it. Mega Dope!

I was a just baby during the release of this album and song by BAD. Music like this is a microcosm of everything that was great about the early 1990s.
As far as I am aware, Big Audio Dynamite was one of the few bands in the history of music that could incorporate samples without sounding derivative and transcend sonic barriers without sounding genre-less and cheap. Today's "alternative rock" music (if you could even call it that) is mostly industry-manufactured, soul-less, uncreative garbage subjected to artistic depreciation for the purpose of catering to commercial expectations.

When I first heard this song, I was heavy into comic book collecting. I always associate alternative/modern rock with comics.

Had not given thought 'One' to this awesome song since about 6 months after its release. Until it played a month ago on KXT Dallas/Fort Worth. Absolutely stuck in my head now. It's the perfect tempo for my typical walk speed. Striding up and down the halls in my office singing "Where are you going, my beautiful friend? Hewee Hewee Hewee... Go!' In my head, of course.

This song was, believe it or not, the highlight song of my first big night out as a fully vaccinated woman- the first night in quite a long time that I had a ball. I'd never even heard it before and yet I already know I'll treasure it.

I have no idea why this band never won a award they were the first band ever to switch to rap/rock and add samples there would not be a Beastie Boys Limp Biscuit or any other rap/rock bands.
