I have a question. My ceiling is the same height, and I am going to purchase the exact same lift this week. My question is this; when you have your car at its highest point it can go on the lift in your garage, and release the hydraulic pressure in the lines for it to rest on the locks, how much higher did the car need to go coming off the locks to apply hydraulic pressure to briefly lift/lower the car to the ground? Hope that made sense.

I've been looking at this same unit. Question, what's the clearance between the bottom of your vehicle to floor when raised as close to ceiling w/o contact? Thanks in advance

Just installing mine. Lucky to have a 12 foot ceiling in my airplane hangar. At least I can stand. I liked your idea of having air and 120 volts at the lift.

Looks good! Have you thought of a high lift garage door? I dont know if it would be very expensive or if the the motor box for the garage door would still take up a significant amount of space. Just a thought. Cool vid. Cool car. I have a mk5 gti and a Mk2 GLI 16v.

You can run a high lift door and a jack shaft operator that mounts directly to the spring shaft to save space. A bit pricier though.

How much space is required from the lift to the wall where your boxes are?

A cheap solution for the garage door opener is to extend the opener rail so motor closer to being over the hood. Replacing the garage door track to get it closer to the ceiling is also useful. Jackshaft opener is even better and can justify price based on intelligent features (don't leave door open all night) they come with and power deadbolt harder for theives to defeat.

I’ve had a bp8000 in my home garage for almost 4 years with no issues and I used it a lot for about 3 of the years. Greg smith equipment is a great company very good customer service. I own a auto repair shop and when I need a lift for my shop I definitely will buy another atlas. They are the best quality as far as a cheaper brand goes.

told me exactly what I needed to know. My ceiling is 9.25 feet, and I need to be able to lift the Camaro up. Digging around on forums pointed me to this, but your video confirms what I've been looking at. Awesome, thanks!

Do you have any issues with it being a symmetrical lift? I've read about not being able to open car doors while on the lift due to positioning of the car. I just bought an old rotary 2 post and am considering selling it to a friend to buy an asymmetrical model. Thanks

how tall is that baseplate? underneath the plate is the cables and hydraulic lines? do you think it's possible to relocate those above ? I love this lift size, but really don't like the baseplate.

What did you put on the baseplate on both sides at the end of the video? Rubber protection against dirt and water ?
