I’ve known them for years too but not from ren fairs. I was born into the culture of them bc my parts are from Newfoundland & Labrador. Fishing was the biggest industry for decades before it went to shit. I’m always proud of my heritage. The culture and that is quite similar to Irish from what I can tell, just Ireland and Canada mushed together and that’s Newfoundland
