Kind of love that this song is specifically used in the Enforcer fights at a point in a Trails arc where we've seen the protagonists grow further than we have at any point previously. Like, they're Ouroboros and they're still stronger than you, but not nearly as much as they used to be.
Come to think of it, I think CS3 is the first game in the series where you're fighting multiple Enforcer-level opponents at once before the final dungeon (as early as the first chapter even).
@@Abysslord1234 While Duvalie is indeed enforcer level, Altina definitively isn't (especially after seing her level in CSIII) PS: Leo and Xeno are both enforcer level too
I still think Sky did enforcers best where they're stronger than you for the whole game but you slowly catch up to them as it goes on, finalizing in a big confrontation that wraps up or sets up arcs depending on the character. Spoilers for Sky SC: Especially at the end of Sky SC where you fight Walter, Luciola, Bleublanc, and Renne on the Axis Pillar. Walter falls over in exhaustion, Bleublanc's mask breaks, Luciola is backed into a corner before jumping off the building, and Renne is broken on the inside and doesn't have any will or way to fight anymore with Pater-Mater being in a bad state. Not to mention that all of these character wrapped up/set up other character arcs, such as Zin's arc with Walter, Olivier's and Kloe's with Bleublanc's, Schera's with Luciola, and Joshua/Estelle with Renne, even to some extent Tita and maybe Agate with Renne. Zero/Ao did overall boss fights the best imo, with each character going through their own arc with boss fights as well, but when it comes to specifically enforcers, I think Sky did it nearly perfectly.
@@LectornAnigame I also thought Sky was a better series overall but Cold Steel's so good it barely matters. I think the reason I prefer Sky is that Cold Steel falls into the trap where Rean actually has this hidden power so the story makes the Bildungsroman growth explicit through a weird abstraction and beats you over the head with it. Sky's great because Estelle's special hidden power is....just being really nice. A good kid who draws people to her because they want her to succeed.
Even with a paltry 70% dodge rate (Evergreen + Evade 1,2 + Shining) I was able to dodge most things and counter with literally more damage than Rean's S-craft and I blocked her S-Craft with Adamantium Guard. It wasn't too bad lol.

Maybe this is just me, but the song sounds kinda...playful? It's not super serious sounding like Erosion of Madness. Just a bit lighthearted. Which is honestly perfect considering the pretty goofy personalities some of the enforcers have, and the song mirroring that is kinda perfect.
It really gives the sense that Rean is seen as being on a completely different level by the enforcers themselves. It DOES seem playful, because they're familiar and they genuinely want to see if they can push him to use his full force. And he desperately tries not to. Rean is holding back so much of himself he changes his starting crafts. That's really something interesting in a game where Agate comes into CS3 with nearly frame-perfect animations of what we know he will do in combat.
I kinda see it as the Enforcers and out heroes being closer to equal footing when it comes to battle power. It's no longer chumps vs monsters like before.

@@rogerlarson I'm playing through the sky and crossbell games on my phone so I don't believe it's wise to skip the crossbell games since most of the characters will be in CS4. @@codyfranczak4493 put rean quart secondary on fie, put gladiator band( the thing that give you cp). Spam the invisible move and impression and basic attacks= win.
Cold Steel IV is coming out tommorow but i've gotta wait until i've finished all the sky and crossbell games to play it, *sigh* oh well at least i'll be able to enjoy it to it's fullest potential once I eventually get there
I'd actually consider that a blessing in disguise, you don't have to wait so long in between games like the rest of us have. It's literally been a year between each game, and 1-3 years between each of the trails in the sky games to be released. You could actually skip crossbell, but 10/10 would recommend you get the fan translation of it if you can.
@@rogerlarson I'm playing through the sky and crossbell games on my phone so I don't believe it's wise to skip the crossbell games since most of the characters will be in CS4. The thing with cs4 is at that point you have to know everything that happened in the past game since the game's story relies heavily on it. So if I were to skip it I won't be able to enjoy CS4 for all it has to offer
This song is really cute, especially with my lovely Campanella

Great theme for great characters :)
The fool and blazing demon
Ahem! I believe you meant "Almighty Conflagration". (Just sounds cooler)
The only bad thing about this game is the absolute cliffhanger i cant fucking wait for IV
Same i've already preordered the limited edition on nisa website, it's going to be expensive asf for me since Iive in Canada but regardless i'm excited to get it once it releases

Got wiped out more than tens time, hard difficulty first playthrough
Nice song to give you PTSD
Playing on Hard on first playthrough too, though I don't find it hard really, except for Einhel Keep bosses, the rest is an easy challenge. If you find most bosses difficult, I highly recommend to abuse brave orders, they are stupidly broken if used right, having a mage+healer with both Cast 1 and Cast 2 and Breath/Holy Breath and curia will make your life easier 👍
@@GallantX70 agreed. it got to the point i just stopped using rush and burst because I'd rather save the BP. and if i hit 5 BP without any need for an order, i just used Rean's Raging Fire or Iron Will to heal CP/HP/EP to everyone. I'm about to enter the final dungeon and i still don't even have the 50-burst trophy yet
Played 1st playthrough on hard too, was hard during early part of the game, specifically because I have to learn about Brave Orders. Then starting on chapter 2, I started killing bosses with Unscathed bonus on. Literally no damage taken. This game is probably the easiest Trails by far. Heck, even in final dungeon bosses dies left and right without even taking a turn.
PTSD? This song? What sort of demons does Unfathomable Force being out then?
Guess i'm the only one who started their first playthrough on nightmare lol even then the game got easy after awhile
How Osborne and Ouroboros came to make an alliance:
Osborne: I have an army
Ouroboros: We have McBurn
Osborne: Let's make an alliance, we don't need to fight
Wasn’t it supposed to be like:
I have the means to make your precious Sept-Terrion, and if you wanna get it, you do what I say.
@@mystery8820 I think the grandmaster isn't even interested in collecting all sept-terrions. She is only interested in destroying them

Some twats: "HRR! Singa IZ bed!?!!#31132"
This track: "Pfft, OK, hun, keep going"
Hilarious that some people retroactively hated this track when they realize it was Singa lmfao. This is an objectively good track. Singa being able to make good tracks was NEVER in question to begin with. His issue has always been consistency. Not quality. I'd argue even his bad tracks have lots of good parts
Only Rean can be the protagonist of 5 games and only truly beat like 3 bosses
