:25 could buy and amber roof like im assuming the gmc is steel body truck so wont have issue like with the fords Shawn has. They sell OKish ones them at box auto part stores. And should get a headache rack for the fords to mount a light bar that doesn’t have magnets on it to the headache rack. And will help protect the back window and won’t interfere with the salters
I'm also an Ohio snow fighter. I totally get the bigger plow, but it means you need a second truck to plow and you're constantly working looking over your shoulder. Personally, for what you paid for the plow, I would Have gone with the snopower F12 or F14. It eliminates the need for a second truck on site and means you can take on more properties. Just my opinion. Enjoy this weekends storm! I know I will.
I just love all the UA-cam know it all's that feel they need to chime in on the way you run YOUR business. 15+ years of plowing and landscaping experience I have my own ideas about things. But I would never be so presumptuous to tell someone else how to run their business.
I’m wondering if there is ever a good time for a serious snowstorm. But I understand there are better times for plowing. God bless your dad being able and willing to help.
Instead of using the magnet for the ford trucks. Have you thought about a headache rack and not using a magnet light bar and just bolting the light bar to the headache rack. If you go this route, you can add some auxiliary lights facing the rear with a switch so when you’re salting or in reserve you get some more illumination down the side of your truck. You might be able to just unscrew the magnet in the light bar then get some self tappers or bolts and attach them to the headache rack. Or they make brackets that mounts inside the third taillight (one above the rear window) and still makes the third taillight functional. And then there’s a flat surface to attach a light bar and is steel if you choose.
Do you think I would harm my business intentionally? The back blade is a game changer for our business, saving us easily 35 to 40% of our time. I'm just saying! Boss plows are great, and I'm not knocking them. We love them. This plow is different, and this truck is purposely built to move snow fast in these events.
I really enjoy your channel, you have referred to safety in the past. TQ in just black and flashing warning light behind the blade you really need on the roof a warning light
Hey man! Loving the edition of the back plow! I have a small suggestion that might help your back with shoveling. Any chance you can take off the tailgate of your truck and then put a small single stage snow blower in the bed of the truck nice and light on your back instead of shoveling? Just a thought .. love your content!!
Should put a back up alarm too on the trucks with a switch that you can turn it on and off in the cab but only use it for snow removal during day just to bring extra awareness. Could check with insurance to see if you can get a deduction for having the warning lights and back up alarm.
I have to pre face this comment. My snow removal is limited to a big blower on the front of a farm tractor, a walk behind blower and a shovel so I don’t know the plow scene at all. Wouldn’t that large back plow not work better on the front? I am a little confused
Wouldn’t it be easier to put a wide blade up front and plow normally? I thought the back drag blades were more for driveways and areas that you can’t push against like loading docks, garage doors etc. it just seems like a lot more effort to plow backwards. 🤔
I’m gonna agree with @spencerlawncare on this one. We own one of these 16ft blades, but we don’t stack with ours we have a v plows up front that we use that for. Also we run both plows down a lot of the time. Our other truck has a 12ft ebling on the back and a boss v plow with wings on the front. Same thing both plows down. Just a different plowing style then here or there owner of top gun uses, but they accomplish the same job.
They have a brine setup to be able to salt. We run multiple trucks, as you can see. This truck is 40% faster at plowing than our other trucks. Salting takes a little bit of time compared to plowing. The faster we clear a lot, the faster we can salt. As soon as this truck is done, I move on to the next lot. And They finish any detail work and salt and then catch up to me.
Hey Sean how come you haven't put a light bar on that truck for when you're out flowing? Don't you still have the roof-mounted light bars that you had on your other Ford pickups?
I saw a video that they had a lot of snow and the back blade got the truck stuck maybe they didn't know how to operate it don't know is that the storm from Kansas and Missouri just asking be safe careful cause they still don't know how to drive in the snow when we cleaned lots my machine was the big rubber tired end loader we used at the sand and gravel company took the whole crew out to clean 27 parking lots and parking ramps so was busy don't miss it one bit only the money thanks for posting waiting for update on how it's going be safe and keep warm and hydrated why would tic toc ban it scared to show people working for a honest dollar glad didn't have all that stuff back in the day
Stay safe y’all! Glad got some warning lights coming for the Chevy. Use to work for company doing neither and Walmart stores n all trucks had boss v plows then either back blade or salt spreader n I always grabbed one with back blade cuz so helpful especially loading docks. Enjoy it and hope it turns out to be great product making made in USA mean something again
Shawn it’s good to see dad out getting it done in addition to you and TQ. You probably already said this but is the GMC gas or diesel. Just curious. I’m really liking that back blade. Excellent work as always. Y’all get ya some rest and be safe careful stay warm and dry and keep up the great work. Bruce in Wv.
I hear a lot people complain about the back blades no where near same quality of work with back blade compared to front mount plows big heavy snow falls back blades are useless from many people say that has them here up north
@SpencerLawnCare that's what I heard here in Canada but I personally don't know how they are as I don't have one. As I only started my business in spring of 2024 so I'm new to the business. I do enjoy your videos tho. What brand of shovells you guys use or recommend to use
I feel for you guys during the storm. I did snow removal about 16 years ago and it was brutal it wasn't so much the manual labor but the hours and I sometimes got only about 2 hours of sleep and worked 12 to 14 hours and what I did was mostly shoveling and salting the sidewalks.
The new snow equipment looks cool. You should add some custom safety lights that might be an interesting video. It’s hard to see you out there. Add some lights hook it up. FYI nice enjoyable videos keep making them.
Back blades are very efficient due to their blade size. But what everyone seems to forget is you have to have a second truck come by just to salt. That alone makes it not worth it. There is a place for it but not for guys that need a truck to plow then salt.
The way i look at it is like a loader or skid steer, they have to have someone come salt as well. This truck was built specifically to move snow fast. We have 2 other trucks that will be within 10 mins at all times. This vomes at a fraction of the cost of big machines. I give it 2 thumbs up! I love it. And I'm not being paid to say that to be clear. 💪🏼
@@ericriley3147 I don’t know where you get your expertise from. I plowed for more years than you are old. Not having warning lights in view save a lot of problems!

Absolutely! That's how we get things done.
Do you guys have a way of scraping say 1/4" of ice off sidewalks, or do you just salt and wait for the magic to happen?
For that we would just salt and let it do its job. but once it does we would go back and clean up all the melt off so it doesn't re freeze
