I just came here from watching your 1 month video and I can already tell that your confidence has grown tremendously. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am going to be a new grad in the ICU and your videos are helping with my anxiety
in nursing school, we were only allowed to get a C grade or below 2 times in the 4 year program. on the third time, we get kicked out the program. So, there was one semester that i had gotten a low grade in 2 classes, and then the next time was my last straw.
asking questions! dont be afraid to ask questions!!! Also, you have to do your fair share of studying and reviewing the new drugs, treatments and diagnoses that you might find in the ICU that you may have not seen before!
@@michofalltrades This is true! Jennifer, you have to spend a lot of time watching UA-cam videos and studying outside of working, this will build confidence. Also subscribe to RN podcasts that's related to your field.
This video was very inspiring to me! Congratulations to you & wishing you much more success in the field

What is a safe patient ratio for a new nurse in ICU?
Hey! a safe ratio is 1:1 or 1:2. anything more than that is unsafe.
@@michofalltrades thank you! These hospitals be trying to get new grads. Where I'm at they are wanting to do 1:4
@@stywoke5241this is most likely because of the staffing issues nationwide . But regardless , 1:4 ratio is not a safe ratio for ICU care
How old are you ?
