Seriously, a woman's opinion on these matters is gold. Haltane is perfection-bottled, and PDM is my new home for scents. Your reactions sold me on at least two more bottles lol.
I have the new batch and it still lasts 24 hours+, but yes they tweaked the Layton which is wonderful for the mass especially girls. The original one was very wick menthol heavy and was smelling like old cough medicine in the opening for hours. They changed that and balanced out so it is much much more likeable. Layton now has a refreshing yet smooth cooling mint/menthol opening with woods, spices and a juicy apple and the vanilla behind it. Its almost like a hookah now apple citruses with spices, woods and sweetness with that bit of minty/menthol.
@@LA-st6dqi had a decant from Decantx that was definitely from the old menthol batch. I just bought a bottle of Layton and it doesn’t have the heavy menthol at all
@@Jiggy609 that's what I am saying, they for good updated Layton and removed that intense heavy old medicine sirup/menthol smell with a rather uplifiting, refreshing Menthol appearance.
It got reformulated a few months to a year after first release if I remember correctly, the bottles in circulation today are pretty much all the reformulated ones.
Sedley is my favourite followed by Percival. I wish the names were on the bottle so you could tell what is what. You have to rely on colour coding to find your favourite one.
@@fragrancewithfilsan it’s okay if you just began your fragrance journey 🥱. There’s plenty of scents to dive your nose into especially in the niche realms
Layton is a really really great smells almost like a very very nice hookah but with woods, vanilla and spices. Percival is just a masterpiece formula, the vintage Fierce with the touch of niche and PdM's toppings. Althaïr is brings back Armani Code Profumo, but just with a little bit less of the spice and a even smoother freshness - overall its a warmer Layton without the calming mentholic appearance. Galloway is a gentleman who knows to be wild, great for everything, clean yet spicy powerful. Good for weddings too.
Hello, I would like to ask you too, as a perfume lover and an Aquarius with a very picky personality, I understand that everyone's nose approves of perfumes with fresh lemon, orange and similar ingredients, so it is a scent with different layers for summer and holidays. I think it would be better to start looking for it and I don't like fruity scents like pineapple creed aventus, marly layton and many other perfumes. Which one do you think, Althair or Haltane, will not make you regret for dinner and afterwards on holiday?
@sskhylmaz7506 Hi. Haltane is a powerhouse scent with saffron and Oud , whilst Althaïr is a sweet and spicy vanilla forward scent. They are different. Althaïr can work for both dinner and holiday. Haltane may be too strong for a summer holiday scent. Try to sample them first.
Great video, recently introduced to Parfums De Marly while watching videos on UA-cam. Went shopping with the wife to Neiman Marcus and purchased: Layton, Haltane, and Greenly. I went back and forth between Greenly and Sedley and Greenly came out on top for me. I know it won’t be long before I pick up Sedley. Another one the sales associate recommended was, The Harmonist Hypnotizing Fire Parfum and yes, I purchase it as well. An expensive fragrance day to say the least. My wife is now leaving me at home when she goes shopping.

My ranking of the six PDM fragrances I sampled: 1. Carlisle - A boss, dominant, masculine gem 2. Oujan - Great boozy, amber fragrance, but Initio's Side Effect edges the win for me in this category 3. Layton - The most versatile 4. Haltane - Great oud, but the beast mode nature of Louis Vuitton's Ombre Nomade puts it above this for me 5. Layton Exclusif - Good, but I prefer Layton 6. Percival - Not a fan
Love it when you and Kelsey get together! Congrats on the 50k!! Most PDM’s are good but Haltane’s my favorite and Layton’s my most worn with Carlisle to be next purchased.
@@Jhart44it probably isn’t. You are probably going noseblind, because from my experience and from a lot of people’s experience it is beast mode. Hope this helps!
I live in a very hot and humid country all year long. Im looking for an everyday office fragrance. Im trying to decide between Percival, Sedley, Greenly, or Galloway. What recommendations can you give me?
Another Kelsey collab, and another really fun video! As much as people hate on Layton for being "the" PDM fragrance, it has that status because it really is that good. An easy, no-brainer pick if anyone wants to dip their toes in to the PDM pool. As far as PDM's fresh fragrances go, I actually prefer Percival over Greenley and Sedley. Greenley is definitely, well, green, which I don't always love in the warmer weather, and I get a lot of Patchouli out of Sedley, where I prefer the admittedly "basic" shower-gel opening and spicy/woody dry-down of Percival. Having said that, I don't think I've smelled a PDM I didn't think was beautiful, despite it not being my personal taste. Just an absolutely fantastic perfumery, worth the price of their offerings, especially when on sale. Thank you both for the entertaining/informative video!
As a PDM fan, I loved this video with 2 of my favorites. Especially appreciate the Galloway love, it never gets much discussed. Wore it this week and got some compliments. And Greenley is a favorite, especially among other PDM fans. Sedley is my favorite summer freshie, and Layton is my overall favorite. The amount of compliments I receive when wearing Layton is ridiculous sometimes.

People who complain about the performance on Layton's new batches most likely bought a fake one. I've got a 2022 batch (bought on PDM's website) and it's still a beast mode fragrance for sure. 10+ hours easily.
Haltane is my number 1 only because I find it a bit more versatile than Carlisle. I find them both addictive. Just got a massive compliment for Sedley which is my summer scent. Layton has some magic in the dry down. Love Herod and Greenley. Aw hell. I pretty much dig all of them.
That's "doing a 180" Erica, as in 180 degrees. In other words going the opposite direction. To "do a 360" would be to do a complete circle and end up going in the same direction you started. :)
Percival, Greenly, Sedley are my faves but I recently wore Oajan on an evening night out and loved it! I wore Layton once and got compliments but I get weird medicine vibes from it.
if i wore althair in iran i get a heat stroke its like 30+ - 50 degress from june to august depending on which city or village you at Tehran, shiraz, mahshad, esfahan, Tabriz,
I miss Carlisle and Darley on this list. Also I love Akaster, but it's discontinued. At least according to fragrantica, and many sellers here in Europe. It´s also not available on the Parfums de Marly website anymore since november of last year.
Sedley is my favorite scent from the brand and I am captivated by it. It is _that_ good to me and this is coming from someone who gravitates towards "darker" scents. Y Le Parfum was my go-to "classy" freshie but Sedley clears it with a handicap. It is the perfect blue scent as far as I am concerned. The longevity is disappointing but that's it. Greenley is great and I appreciate the quality of that juice but I just don't seem to care about "green" fragrances. I think it's that grassy smell. I still have a bottle of it. Longevity is also bad. So, my favorites are Sedley, far and away, then Carlisle in second since it smells awful on my skin in the middle and then smells amazing again on the dry down, and then Haltane. Smells like tobacco on the skin and I don't care for it but amazing otherwise. Now that is a grown man's scent.
I struggled so much choosing a favorite that I ended buying all of them too LOL. If I could only have one, it would probably be Layton for the versatility. Sedley, Layton Exclusive, and Herod are the only ones I've been complimented on (the Sedley compliment was over the top from a stranger in an elevator LOL), although none of them are in my top 5.
