Between Vegito and Gogeta I think they are the same, everyone thinks that Vegito wastes his time. but if you look at the Majin bo saga, as at the beginning goku says that this fusion is forever when vegito merges he does not take the fight seriously for two important points: the first is that from the beginning his plan was that majin buu he absoebated to save gohan and gotenks, and he didn't want to kill Majin Boo and second point is that since he thought that the fusion was forever, the fights were slow and with bulling, if he knew that he carried them they only last an hour and that it is understood that the more power he has the less time they would have to fight, he would see himself as taking the fight seriously and see him put an end quickly as gogeta does. I think in summary that both Vegito and Gogeta have the same power and with the same way of thinking about fighting, only that you have to understand that way what happened with the fight conclusion The information regarding the duration of the fusion was wrong from the beginning, not like gogeta who already knew how long it lasts, that's why he plays it safe. so if the old man knew about the time, he would also see himself gone to the safe. In the Samazu saga, at first they find out that the potaras have a duration, so they take the fight seriously, the only thing that happened is that by increasing the power, the potaras could not stand what time was significantly reduced and they did not finish the fight . the disadvantage with the potara is that the fusion can only support the super saiyan transformation while the metamoru fusion can support the other transformations it has.
Potaras can also support the other forms but he couldn't do it in Zamasu saga because of the Super Saiyan Blue form wasn't perfected so they wasted so much energy he defused faster (manga) Gogeta already had Super Saiyan Blue when he fighted broly so he didn't defuse so fast, remember Broly's movie it's manga based.

Gogeta is stronger than vegito , while vegito only requires earrings to perform the fusion , gogeta has to do an hard dance , and it has to be perfect. also the ones perfoming the dance has to be close in power level.
vegito fusion gets reduced time if its used with too much power , like ssj vegito lasts 2 hours i think , blue vegito lasts about 40 minutes , ssjbe vegito probably would last 20 minutes and mui vegito , 5 minutes

1. To give trunks the plot armour
2. To make Vegito and Gogeta look like equally matched trump cards. In reality Vegito is several times superior to Gogeta. As his fusion multiplyer makes him stronger than Gogeta and then his longer fusion time as we know limitations don't affect much. And Vegito is made of potaras( used by supereme kais/gods ) and fusion dance is far inferior mortal technique. I rest my case🔨🔨🔨

exacto, dbs broly esta mas apegado al manga pues se ve a vegeta en la fase del ssj dios, es por eso que gogueta duro mas tiempo porque en el manga goku aprendio el ssj blue perfecto que evita el desgaste exagerado de energia del ssj blue normal, y en el anime vegetto sufrió mucho desgaste por aquella transformacion por eso duro poco la fusion, aparte gogueta empezó peleando en sus fases normales asi que, solo al final uso la blue y por muy poco tiempo hasta que la fusion terminó.

@@lapizune6233 thats not how it works, the potara earrings would be 2x3 = 6 but for the fusion to work, both participants have to have the same power level. so the higher power level would have to lower theirs for it to work, so 2x2 = 4.

Okay, so, let's pretend their fusing in potara. even if vegeta is weaker than goku, they'll fuse all their strength. but in fusion dance, goku needs to lower his power to reach vegeta's, so it'll become a weaker fusion.
