  • This batch in the Harvest Right Freeze Dryer was a load of Beyond Burgers. 32 Beyond Burgers cost a total of $60, making this one of the most expensive batches I've ever freeze dried! 2 of our family members are vegetarians, and in a SHTF scenario, having 'comfort' food, or at least food that you're used to is great for moral. While I've been told that in a SHTF situation, people will eat whatever is available, I still believe it's best to prep what you eat, so we make sure we have something available for everyone. See you in SHTF, my Preparedness Family and Community.

It's really nice to see you take her ethical choice into consideration. I love that so much!

Thanks so much for watching, and for your comment.
I try to consider everyone's choices and respect whatever decisions they make for themselves, as long as they don't try to make their choices fit me.
In a SHTF scenario, we'll all be stressed enough. Since I prep for some vegetarians, I ofc want them to not be further stressed by having to violate their personal choices if they're not ready to.
Also, we take some of our food on trips, so having something for everyone is important. It's hard to enjoy yourself on a long trip on the river if everyone is eating something you don't eat or like.

Ir's always good to store the foods your family actually likes to eat :-)

Thank you so much for this video! My partner and I are vegan and were looking for a video with this information about freeze drying beyond meat.

I am a Vegan prepper and I will never go back. Quite frankly such a change in someone's diet could make a person sick. Eating meat after years of not eating it is dangerous. Which is why I store hundreds of pounds of beans and have a large garden.

You should try the Beyond Meat hot Italian sausages in an air fryer.

Hi, and I'm so sorry for the late reply.
      Short answer: Yes
Long answer: I used to put the date I packed the food (0118 for Jan 2018, 021417 for Feb 14, 2017). Since freeze dried food is expected to last 30 years, I now put the perceived best by date on the mylar bag. So, a bag with 0950 is September 2050, 30 years after I packaged the food. It also helps with rotation.
