Most of the fandom loves that dancing scene, I don't think it was awkward, it shows the love and friendship harry and hermione had, it was nothing more than harry just trying to cheer her on
It’s out of character because it never happened in the books. Just added by the director who never even read the books.
Of course he'd read the books. I love that dancing scene. At this point Harry and Hermione had been alone for weeks. No knowledge of the outside world. They were tired, hungry and getting desperate. They were nowhere near finding the horcruxes. And just for 2 minutes they forgot about it. Just 2 minutes of relief from reality. Then it ends and they're back into reality. I think this is a brilliant scene
Maggie Smith who plays Professor McGonagal did have shooting conflicts due to her tenure on Downton Abbey. Julie Walters who plays Mrs. Weasley did not appear due to health concerns at the time.

yes in an interview with David Yates, JK mentioned that she loved that scene because of the uncertainty of their romantic feelings to one another, and while writing the tent chapter she mentioned feeling a romantic pull between those 2 characters

No Harry was the chosen one. Because Voldemort chose him. nevilke could have been the chosen one but he was never chosen by Voldemort.. There could have only been one chosen one. Ultimately Voldemort created his own worst enemy that lead to his own demise by making a chose between Neville and Harry. If he never chose either of them he would still be alive and ruling the Wizarding World and Harry would have been a regular boy no more special and no more powerful than his parents that were easily killed by Voldemort.

Rupert was born in 1988, Daniel 1989 and Emma in 1990.
Emma almost left because of not only the fame but she just graduated high school and wanted to go to college not only that but on the day she turned 18, paparazzi took a very inappropriate picture of her so she was very uncomfortable with the fame. What a lot of people don't know is Daniel almost left Harry Potter too after Prisoner of Azkaban because he didn't want to be typecasted for the rest of his career but ended up saying. Rupert was basically the only one who never thought about leaving
Ngl Daniel crushing on Mommy Bellatrix is based. I have crush on lots of teachers growing up as a hormonal teenager😂😭
Not only did they leave the sets up, this was filmed at the studio tour in London where the movies were actually filmed. You can visit and see all of the sets.
John Williams' soundtrack will always give me gooseflesh, it reminds me so much of my childhood when me and my whole family sat down in the living room, watching amazed the first movie in one of those big 2000s tv 🤧❤🩹

Also, kudos to their parents: Emma's parents who respect her hard work, saving her earnings that she used once she was an adult and Daniel'parents who didn't want at first let him act in the movie cause they didn't want to throw him as a child in LA horrible industry just for greedyness (unlike Culkin parents for example)
All films thankfully were filmed in Britain. J.k Rowling fought for an all British cast and got it to not be filmed in L.A.

Emma Watson possibly leaving was also in part due to being a young female celebrity. People and papperazi creeped on her BAD. I wouldn't have blamed her if she left.
To say nothing of the fact that she wanted her actual education as well and it was a huge scheduling conflict.
For me personally, there was not one scene in deathly hallows part one that was more emotional than the dance. It was such a great idea and showed their feelings at this vulnerable moment so well. I think it gave that film before the great finale some much-needed personality.
Alfonzo, the director of Azkaban, if one of my favorite filmmakers. He directed Y tu mamá también, Gravity, Roma, and Children of Men. He really added a charm for the movies going forward, and Azkaban is a personal favorite ❤️
Love this throw back and your reactions. Still in disbelief that it's been 20 years! But even to this day these movies are so special and worth showing to our kids.

To explain why it was unknown if Emma was going to return for the 5th movie, the British media had begun publicizing her every single move, every single day. They were taking pictures through windows, stalking parents, and following her little brother. She hit her limit when they decided to PUBLISH MULTIPLE UP-SKIRT photos of her, she was 15 years old. Her parents did NOT want her to go back, and I truly don’t blame them. The next film was delayed by 3 months while she worked out a security deal with the studio. She came back for the fanbase, she is now THE UK’S FEMALE RIGHTS REPRESENTATIVE at the United Nations.

Are you thinking of watching "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". The book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was one of the schoolbooks. I think you can see it on the list of things that Harry had to by for his first year.
I cried so much at the beginning when I watched, and when I finally stopped crying.... Helena shows up hugging Daniel. Dang it! Tearbending again 😂😂
The whole cast of HP is amazing and I SPECIALLY love the main three kids.... but I'll admit I have a soft spot for Helena Bonham Carter.
Everyone is always laughing and happy around her and she a little bit crazy, two things I love about the woman.
That and how incredibly talented she is. (By the way you guys should totally watch Tim Burton movies, they're great 🤭)
I miss so many of the people who pass. And so many dead so early too.... It really hurts when they mention any of them, specially Alan, Helen and Michael Gambon. All these amazing actors will always have a special place in my heart 😢💔

😎👍 If you want to see Mr. Dursley (Richard Griffiths) in a far more sympathetic role, check out the movie "Sleepy Hollow" (1999) which also has Michael Gambon (the second Dumbledore) in it. The main stars of that film are Johnny Depp & Christina Ricci.
He's also in the movie "King Ralph" co-starring with John Goodman and Peter O'Toole and that movie also had John Hurt in it as well

10:54 except for the costumes/set, it's the book straight up come to life. you can just FEEL everyone behind the camera grinning from ear to ear thinking "we got 'em"
also, the scene where they're dancing is Harry realizing how much Hermione (and Ron) have sacrificed in order to help him. With the war going on, having to give up her family, getting attacked and hunted, being on the run, being constantly affected by the corrosive presence of the horcrux, and NOW losing Ron, Harry wants to do something to help them both take their minds off what they're dealing with. It's also Harry's silent way of thanking her for staying instead of leaving with Ron, and apologizing for how much this is demanding of everyone around him. He is keenly aware of how much it costs to want to help him, and whether or not its valid he believes that all of the pain they feel is because of him.
It might feel random, but moments of levity are what people need to get through these times.

You should read -- or listen to -- the books. Doing so will deepen your appreciation for Jo Rowling's accomplishment as well as answer questions the movies left you wondering and give greater insight into characters who were not fully developed in the movies -- especially Neville and Ginny as well as the rest of the Weasley family -- Percy, Bill, and Charlie plus their parents. One thing I haven't forgiven the filmmakers for doing was diminishing Arthur Weasley in that encounter with Lucius Malfoy in the bookstore. Mr. Weasley did not back down as shown in the movies; there were actual fisticuffs!
Next time you’re both in London, you need to hit up the Harry Potter Studios on the insane

The Harry Potter audio books have twice the story as the movies. And theres some fan fiction stories that are really good like a muraders plan
JK Rowling was invited to take part in this reunion, however she declined as the filming was really about the movies and her role in the production was to ensure the story was told correctly and cohesively. JK is such a genius for being able to blend all these archetypes and create a story about friendship, choices, consequences and mystery. The magic element almost goes in the background.
The fact that they all were child actors but none of them acted in any other way than level headed, is awesome 😊

Was*. They were married/together for a decade (or even more), which was when they were doing all of those projects together, and had 2 children together. But they divorced a few years ago.

That dance scene soldified my ship between harry and hermione because it felt different in the theater and you saw how close they got. It's a different experience for the people that grew up with the characters throught the years compared to the people that binge the movies for the first time. Emma did say in an interview that she wanted a kiss between harry and hermione because that felt right in that moment.
Yeh the issue was that none of it happened in the book, and the movies leaned so hard on Harry and Hermione being closer than Ron and Harry. In the deathly hallows book, Harry and Hermione were miserable after Ron left and they barely spoke to each other. Hermione cried most nights and Harry kept looking at the Marauders map to watch Ginny walk around. The movie makers conveniently forgot to include any of this.
About 70% of the book content was left out of the fourth film, Goblet of Fire. If you enjoyed the movies I ‘d recommend the audio books with Stephen Fry for another and better experience!

You should listen to the audio books read by Stephen Fry. They are a work of art and bring the books to life, and telling the story as originally intended. For someone who doesn't have the sitting time to read the books start to finish, the audio opens up the story and explains some strange omissions in the movies. I could never understand why, for example, Harry's dependence on the red-tinted expeliarmus spell marked him out for Voldemaort and made sense of the final duel scene. (Although the final duel in the books is a better treatment, naturally). Although I've read the books multiple times I still dip in and out of favourite scenes read by Stephen Fry The audio books, favourite of which has to be Hermione's 20 minute rant at Ron when he returns from having deserted them in the Deathly Hallows. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Are you referring to the Fantastic Beasts trilogy? I love them -- mostly because they were not Harry Potter although set in the wizarding world. I like that they did not give out HP vibes but paid homage to the history referenced in the HP books, especially what was missing in the movies. But mostly, I think I like that they were written for an adult audience who could appreciate the maturity and complexity of the story and its characters.
I don't know if you're big readers or not, but judging by how much Dee especially has enjoyed this journey, I think you should really consider it! I love the movies but the books are on a totally different level for me, 100x better than the movies!

y’all why don’t you like the dancing scene?? i think it is one of the most beautiful scenes in the series. it shows the special love between harry and hermione and the scene is so gentle in a way that feels super real. it’s not too much it is just perfectly sweet. i personally think that because the scene is so vulnerable and ”random” it gives the very dark film needed personality and sense of safety and friendship. i just really love that scene ❤

JK Rowling is basically being cancelled cause shes made some 'transphobic' comments. She's kinda on the outs with the Harry Potter Movie Franchise side of the business, they are all trying to distance themselves from her. So they didnt feel it was in good taste to use much of her- and made sure the audience undrstood what it was from previous interviews and not recent. They cant not have/mention the author completely. It's all a bit lame tbh.
