    If you have a small enough yard and no irrigation, invest in a multi-zone, multi program water timer. 50 bucks at lowes (Melnor brand). I set mine to run four times in the afternoon for 4 minutes each Zone. Each zone can be programmed separately. My fescue survived amazingly in 100 degree temperatures for a week.

    Abiding by the tuna can rules and only watering. Since I have more time on my hands in this heat I sat inside this week and created my own property map. Did you know you can measure your lot without a tapemeasure? Simply go to Google Earth, plug in your address and there is a measure icon at bottom left that will allow you to select a section or zone. It has a cool feature that gives you the square feet of the section. It's approximate but it would be anyway. It's kinda cool and creepy at the same time. Saved the image and now I'm armed with valuable information for watering, ferts and whatever else needs my attention. Signed Obsessed KY Lawn Lady!

    On the topic of watering every day..... anyone out there have any tips on building a rain catchment system?

    • @Thelawncarenut
      @Thelawncarenut  5 років тому +1

      That's a myth someone told you. It rains everyday here at 2pm and it's always over 90 degrees. No mass lawn burnings reported 😂

    • @justplanefred
      @justplanefred 5 років тому

      Not true he covered this on his other channel recently. It will not burn from watering during the day. However Avoid watering late evening or at night as it will invite fungus and disease.

    Watched a similar video by How To With Doc yesterday as well. I like his approach which was water for roughly 6 minutes per zone every morning then another 6 minutes around 4pm. Do a deep soak, 40 minutes per zone, once a week.
