    First time I saw a video on replacing the lower bush mounts as well. Also explained the torque setting. Very good.

    Very helpful for me as well. I have an 07 e90. I jacked the rear diff and got it on stands, got away with not having to jack the control arms when tightening the new mounts though which was nice. Great video.

      Thank you and it's not too bad as long as you don't have excessive rust.

    the top of my shocks do not stop where they should but continue to rise upwards. What can be the cause? I didn't put new supports but I will use the old ones.🙏🏽

      You're welcome. I do have some other tutorials on this car, but nothing for the front struts. So far they're still good, so I won't be replacing them anytime soon.

    How did you torque the top strut nut without holding the strut shaft still?

    hi sir... why my 320d e90 m-sport doesn't have bump stops(seems like my metal cap attached on black plastic cover not on bump stop)) or metal cap on plastic cover suppose to remove first or my Bump stop entered into plastic cover, when i DIY to remove my rear absorber..is m-sport version doesn't have it?

    As much as i tried not to the shock mount to the arm has cross threaded/spinning free, i think theres a 17 mm nut in top but i cant get a nut or anything on top the u scree from the bottom. Any tips?

    So if I do the bottom mount at 28lb torque. I won’t need to worry about tightening the Nut at “ride height???
    Also how much do you jack the control arm to bolt the upper mount in? Will it eventually “bottom” out?

    • @4DIYers
      @4DIYers  День тому

      No need to torque it at ride height as it doesn’t twist like a control arm bushing.
      Raising the suspension will eventually bottom out but you have plenty of movement to get everything back together.

    Hey man, I have an 06’ 325xi, I’ve seen videos saying you can’t remove the lower shock mount with the rear shock, but you clearly did it lol, and even installed it with it. is it different on certain years or do people just not tend to use “easy” ways

    Hi there I went through a pothole last week and I can hear it banging in the boot
    Don’t think it came off
    Thanks

      Sounds like something broke in the back, you'll have to get under the car to inspect the components.

    Is it possible to adapt the rear shock absorbers from the bmw e46 to the e90?

  • @ShayamKhan-i8e
    @ShayamKhan-i8e Рік тому

    Did you take the shock out with bottom mount attached by undoing the 2 torx nuts? My 17mm bottom shock nut is rounded and didn't think it would come out by undoing the two bolts instead.

    • @4DIYers
      @4DIYers  Рік тому +1

      Yes I did. It's a bit tricky getting that mount out, but possible.

    i dont have the spot on the shock where you can hold it with a spanner while your tightening the bottom mount bolt?

    • @4DIYers
      @4DIYers  Рік тому

      Should be able to hold it by hand. If not, then use a rubber strap wrench around the shock body.
